Re: Cousins demanded a trade?!?
The lottery has never been that good to us in most cases alot of times we got the # 7 pick when we should have gotten higher picks . The year we got Tyreke we were supposed to get the # 1 . The 1 year we got the #1 we got the sucky nervous pervous ellison . How did that work out for us ?
Anyways , would have , could have , should have .

And to think...if Cousins didn't have "issues" there is no way he'd have been there at 5. Depends on how you look at things I guess.
I was referring to the year before...not the 2010 draft.
I know, I was just referring to luck in the draft. It's not like the Kings haven't had their fair share either.

How does Evans get away with saying something like this, but not Cousins?
Hahahaha!!! Just hilarious. Well, that shows me how much Reke is buying in. Got to go back to "Reke" ball tonight too. Good luck with that in the future.
Still can't get the hypocritical aura situated around the happenings when Spencer got suspended.

If we don't get a thrown under the bus statement from Westphal on this I'm calling for his head.

Yeah, Westphal clearly favors Evans over Cousins. That's probably because Evans is a massive introvert. Rarely speaks up against the coach or FO. Does what he is told to do.. Also, Evans says all the right things most of the time too whenever he speaks..
Either way, I thought the quote above was positive imo. Having both players on the same page..

Classic westfail.
Big Cuz is the only one man enough not to accept this horrible coach ruining our franchise and our future.
In the micro he is wrong, and the way he is acting is not at all something that makes him fault-less - but on the macro he is 100% right in his intentions and what he is saying.. he is saying what all the players and fans are saying : Paul has to go! this does not work!

Re: Cousins demanded a trade?!?
Cousins more than likely is acting immature behind closed doors. PW probably has been documenting every small detail and reporting to Kings brass. Cousins knows this which only feeds the fire. Sounds like your typical girls high school locker room.
I honestly cannot figure out why these two grown men who make millions of dollars to do what they love cannot get along and make it work?
From a business perspective you never sell low. Cousins cannot get any lower than this. Fire PW. Its that simple.

Re: Cousins demanded a trade?!?
Its just like the knee-jerk, hot-and-cold fanbase of the Sacramento Kings to jump to conclusions and attempt to run yet ANOTHER guy out of town with a mob of pitchforks at the slightest hint of controversy. And to think some people are even going as far as to offer up the once "golden child" Tyreke Evans as well, for not living up to the already unrealistic hype placed upon him from day 1... tsk tsk... And yet,
CLEARLY, Paul Westphal has an agenda here. On one hand, he talks about tips of ice bergs and everybody not knowing what goes on behind the scenes, but then he appears to have NO PROBLEM airing out behind the scenes activities his damn self. CLEARLY, whatever DMC said regarding "being traded" stemmed from a heat-of-the-moment disagreement between him and Westphal. The fact that Westphal is actually taking it this seriously only further reveals just how incredibly brainless he really is.
How can any logical person criticize Cousins for his lapses in maturity while apparently AGREEING with Westphal's equally immature publicizing of private interactions between the two of them by throwing him out the door with ridiculous, premature trade scenarios? Cousins wasn't SERIOUS in his "trade demand", and whatever he did say was done in PRIVATE, not to the public. So where does Westphal get off MAKING it a public issue?
Hyopcrisy anyone? What gave you the idea that THAT was the public's business? Besides that fact that it made YOU look like the good guy and Cousins as the bad guy. Again. But it seems he's never liked Cousins from the very beginning anyway, and has taken every opportunity to make him look as bad as possible. Say what you want about Cousins' "maturity" or whatever, but I ask you, exactly how mature were any of YOU guys around 21? Typically one's college years. Not exactly known as the most mature years of one's life in the first place. I say let he who is without sin cast the first stone. It's always easy to sit behind your computer screen and tell somebody else how they SHOULD be living their lives...
Plain and simple, this team as we know it is NOT going to win at a significant level UNLESS Cousins reaches his potential, and does so IN SACRAMENTO. Whether he will or not remains to be seen, but this franchise will in all likelihood NEVER see another big man with Cousin's skill set again. How often to they come around in the first place? Unless he gets into some kind of serious LEGAL trouble, DeMarcus Cousins should not leave this basketball team. I don't care what all the bandwagoners say. He is barely out of his rookie season and there is plenty of time for him to mature and come into his own. You don't label a guy as a "failure" after only one season. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Cousins, Evans, and Thornton are the future stars of this team. Period. To break that up is to throw away the entire foreseeable future of this franchise. Besides, I thought it was typical NBA fashion for the coach to get the axe with things go bad, not the players?

Like I said in my statement, and again I'm elaborating, there are many, many things that go on behind closed doors in this business that's nobody's business

Everyone here is pretty much 100% supporting Cousins, so I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about...

I swear, if I was a player who knows what I currently know AS a fan, I wouldn't wanna play in Sacramento, not only because of the city, but because of the so-called fans. Kings fans are some of the most two-faced fans I've ever seen. One minute they're singing a guy's praises, the next minute, they're talking hella **** about him and ready to run him out of town. Best fans in the world, my ass...
I said it during the Kevin Martin debate. At that time, everybody was in LOVE with Tyreke Evans.
Nowadays it seems like the fans have soured on Tyreke Evans too. Big shock...
And of course, DeMarcus Cousins is now INSTANTLY public enemy #1, despite nobody outside of the organization knowing ALL OF THE FACTS yet...
Why the FUDGE would I wanna play for a fanbase like this?

Everybody? I would go back and reread this thread from beginning to end. All I'm reading is:
"who do we trade Cousins for?"
"Cousins is bad for this team"
"Cousins is a failure"
"I wish we had gotten (insert random player here)"

Re: Cousins demanded a trade?!?
Greg Monroe. Should have drafted Greg Monroe. As a jazz fan I believed going into the draft that Favors had the most upside, and still does but he has to realize that potential. Greg Monroe and Wall were the two most sure picks in the draft. He was who I was pining for the Jazz to draft. I think if everyone redrafted at this point last years draft you could make the case for a: 1 Monroe, 2 Wall or Favors 3 Favors 4 Cousins 5 George 6 Hayward.
Should have drafted Monroe Guys... too bad.
At this point you don't trade him..You kiss and make up, give him more touches and run some more plays for him... and then once you reestablish his value and he is happy with the direction you trade him.
ONLY THEN

Again, I don't see one Kings fan saying that. I could quote like 5-7 different Kings fans saying it's on Westfail, not Cousins, just in this very thread...
