I'd rank these 5 coaches

1. Kevin McHale
2. Nate McMillan
3. Mike Woodson
4. Vinny Del Negro
5. Sam Mitchell

The Kings have the NBA’s most well-populated list of reported candidates. They’ve interviewed Sam Mitchell, Vinny Del Negro and Mike Woodson and would like to do so with Luke Walton, Kevin McHale and Jeff Hornacek, according to various reports. Mark Jackson, Brian Shaw, Ettore Messina, Ime Udoka, Monty Williams, Jeff Van Gundy, Patrick Ewing, David Blatt, Jay Larranaga, Elston Turner and Henry Bibby are the other apparent candidates.

You can add Nate McMillan to that list

The only two coaches on that list that do anything at all for me are Woodson and McHale. VDN isn't terrible, but I know McMillan has had iffy system relations with players much like Karl had last year with players. Sam Mitchell seems like a nice guy but like a distant 5th option to me because I've never noticed his coaching as anything remotely stand out.

Not all of them are candidates to be coach. There was an article somewhere that said they are looking at adding some well experienced assistants as well.

Elston turner might not be so bad. Still like McHale a lot but turner could be a decent coach

Man, I really hope that's not the Kings benchmark this summer, but so far it sure is looking like it.

I can see the press release now:

"Still better than Karl."

Well after Mark Jackson interviews the candidates by default can only get better from here on out.

The opposite. Sammich is a pretty decent basketball coach but he's a miserable yeller. He's not fun.

On the other hand Vlade continues with an opportunity to make a good impression upon various coaches around the league.... That is if he's nailing the host role.

Interesting article by Voisin interviewing Karl. Ignore Voisin's typical garbage and skip to the Karl quotes.... He says Cousins and Gay don't work, Vlade should trade one of Collison, Belli, or McLemore, and says Vlade needs to make sure he empowers the next coach.

Can't say I disagree with any of that.

He said trade one of Collison, Ben and Marco because their similar? Really? Collison is similar to Belinelli? If he means there was a surplus, ok

I agree with the empowerment part but it was a hard circumstance. Kings were 1-7 when that incident occurred. I believe Karl wanted him suspended a couple of games initially, starting the season maybe 1-9 and Vlade's contract at that time doesn't run past the season either
