The Celtics' success has NOTHING to do with Doc Rivers. Put Britney Spears at the helm of the Celtics and they probably would've swept everybody.

Now, I know you don't really believe that? Are you serious? You really think Doc Rivers has nothing to do with the Celtics being successful?

That's amazing!!!!!!

What a game that turned out to be, and what a win by Boston! Just amazing stuff - instant classic, definitely.

One hell of a loss for the Lake Show

Boston's balance and toughness in that 2nd half was so fun to watch... they really out-executed the Lakers on both sides of the court. They pretty much shut Kobe, and the Lakers, down. Especially on Kobe, with Pierce as the main cog. I say that, because you can't overlook the defense around Pierce defending Kobe, with notably lesser team defense, it's a whole different situation in single match-ups. Relatively significant team defense around varying levels of individual defenders, naturally, just makes it better there.

I love the general irony development there was from 1st half, to 2nd half. You knew Boston would get back in that game, but not like as went. And I'd say, a differing irony, for a certain amount of Laker fans, who were over-confident after that wild 1st half.

Pierce, Raymond, Posey were just terrific all in their own way - Pierce playing a high-level two-way game, and the stats will not reflect the true impact of how he played. Ray, playing maybe his best game of the playoffs, and I continue to be impressed with his defense. And Posey playing his cagey game on both ends of the floor, once again, hitting a key, key, three pointer late. One play I especially enjoyed from Posey, was backing away from Odom right around as he was going up for a lay-up, and the loss of body increased Odom's momentum toward the basket, thus made him miss the shot badly. You see that kind of defense at times, but here it was very effective and meant a lot. All three of those guys made various big-time plays. Also dug how KG, House, Brown played. House hit some big shots to really help the comeback, Brown's defense and that dunk at the end of the third qtr (surprised me), and KG's stats also will not come close to telling how effectively he played.

JVG pointing at the camera man as they were focused on the announce booth, twice, to focus on the game as it resumed was hilarious.

G5 will be very interesting

As an NBA/Spurs fan also, and Boston go'er for this series - I just loved this game. :)

ESPN isn't looking solid at all so far with their pickings (and beyond that) - Laker media darlings

Laker media darlings will be praying, to-night - oh yes, ESPN, that includes you baby

Going to be quite interesting to see if their wishes shall be recieved

Based on the situation they're in and being at home, thinking the Lakers keep the series going

Will be a terrific, terrific series win for the Celt Show if they can overcome things tonight

I want the Celtics to win. I do NOT want to see this series extend to 7 games. But there is a ref officiating the game, Bennet Salvatore. He is one of the refs that I HATE. SOO many BAD calls against the Kings over the years... Im surprised that he flied out from Sacramento without bruises, scratches and etc.

James Posey was so key to that big run, what a stint by him

The fate for the Lakers is at hand in the 2nd half - not looking too cool there

What a superior half of basketball by the Celt Show

Whoa! James Posey! He is an excellent role player to have in any team, especially championship-level team. Too bad, Miami didn't re-sign him. Posey keeps making those key 3s in the right time. Reminds me of Horry to an extent...Big Shot Posey, Big Game James, and etc :D

Well it's not just about the threes (in that stint and in general) being key, but his rebounding, his help, man, and transition defense, as well as his toughness, and at times not letting his man take a practice shot briefly after a whistle to get any rhythm.

Posey is like Horry in ways, being a crafty role-player who can do multiple things on both ends, and doing certain things well. But of course not on Horry's level of accomplishment and establishment as a role-player yet.

I've always dug his game a lot since his Grizzlies days.

So, I'm going to go ahead and say it...a 40-point blowout qualifies as TOTAL OWNAGE!!!

No question who the champs are this year. And someone please remind Kome that he still has not won a title without Shaq.

Just tremendous for the Celtics and their fans

Boo-yah to the Lake Show and media darlings

I loved that emotion from KG, I almost shed tears

Well deserved MVP for Paul Pierce! - pretty close between he and Ray, but I think Paul's defense and facilitating got him the edge for it.

I'll post something more later

  To the Celtics. Glad they made sure LA didn't get another ring and it was nice to see KG, Ray, Pierce, etc. get a ring. Even guys like PJ Brown and Eddie House.

LA got owned   . Only laker I feel bad for is Odom. Very glad to see that team doesn't get another ring

KG, Pierce, Ray, they were all amazing. Pierce deserved the MVP IMO because of the injury he played through, his defense shutting down Kobe, his big 3 pointers all series, and his job bringing the ball up the floor and spreading it around when guys like Sam and House were in the game.

Before the game, I had a feeling that the Lakers will get BLOWN OUT. I was right after all. :D Congrats to the Celtics for winning the title over the Lakers. That made my day.

This isn't a nit-pick, because it's just how it is, but Paul wouldn't of been able to play defense like he has, without the defense that was around him. He played his part impressively well as the main cog on Kobe. Maybe that's what you meant.
