Not gonna happen. The Sonics would still take one of them, and I expect, if he lasts that long, for Westbrook to be scopped up by the Bobcats
I reaallly hope we do something (move up!) now. This is the time to do it.

If the Knicks take anyone but Gallinari, i will be shocked.

It is indeed a crap-shoot... but I just hope we take Arthur, and if not, come away a big man pick that can defend and rebound somewhere. I'll be happy alone with one of those.

From what I heard, the Sonics might take B. Lopez at #7 if the trade goes down.

Well Gallinari is a good possibility too, for obvious reasons - but why just him? Point guards, D'Antoni, Marbury... I think it's a clear possibility because of their situation. Bayless > Gallinari as a prospect, as well.
I won't be shocked at all if they take Bayless or Augustin.

if we take arthur we dont do it at 12...we trade down. Or...we acquire the rockets pick somehow (heard its being shopped) and we take arthur or a big man at 12 and chalmers at 25. I just dont see us taking arthur at 12 with no other plan in the work to acquire a pg.

IF Mayo is picked 3rd...
Rose
Beasley
Mayo
Gordon
Love
Gallinari
Lopez
Alexander
That leaves Westbrook/DJ/Bayless available with the Bobcats picking at 9...
COULD happen...please?
EDIT: Assuming the Clippers/Sonics trade picks

Beasley
Mayo
Gordon

Gallinari
Lopez

I'd love to get Westbrook still, he was my original #2 guy behind Arthur... but he's probably going to Charlotte.

If Bayless/Augustin/Westbrook ALL last to 10... I will be SHOCKED.
Scater, you missed the Nets at 10. The Bobcats don't have the 10th pick. So those three have to go by the Cats, the nets, the Pacers (who will likely take a PF) and then us.
All reports are going with Knicks taking Gallinari. I don't normally hold to much by reports but everyone is saying it.

Well it's just as credible for the Knicks to take a PG with their clear uncertainity there

Yeah, I had Love going to the Cats at 9, but then figured he wouldn't get past Memphis, so had to edit it to fix it. STILL, if it goes the way I have it now, if Bayless/DJ/Westbrook are all there at 9, that leaves a VERY good chance that one will drop to us.

If DJ/Westbrook/Bayless/Gordon is available at 12 and we take Arthur...

Well that isn't a likely scenario to me, for all three of Bayless/Westbrook/Gordon to be around at 12
Westbrook could be, but I doubt it because of Charlotte and maybe somebody else just because of Westbrook's talent and up-side
DJ definitely could be
Bayless will not be available at 12
Gordon will not be available at 12
I won't be surprised at all if we take Arthur at 12 and one or even both of Augustin/Westbrook are there. I also won't be surprised if we don't, because of Augustin and/or Westbrook being there. I'd be kinda disappointed if we got to take Augustin, and a bit disappointed, but still quite happy if we got to take Westbrook.

Re: Players worked out by Kings...Official 2008 Draft Thread
PER Sacbee...
In an e-mail to the Bee just minutes ago, Kings small forward Ron Artest indicated he may indeed opt out of his contract before the Monday deadline and become a free agent.
Asked about a NY Post column in which Peter Vecsey said Artest would be opting out, Artest had the following to say.
"I never knew so many teams would be coming after me," he wrote. "All I can say is I made a hundred degree turnaround."
Of course he may have meant a 180-degree turnaround, but you get the idea. As I mentioned on the Rise Guys this morning, Artest opting out can't be that shocking to anyone who knows him well. While he would most certainly make more money by becoming a free agent next summer, his name is hot at the moment and numerous championship-caliber teams appear to see him as their missing piece. If there is one player in the league who would be willing to lose money for the chance to go deep in the playoffs and get a ring, it's Artest. For all his complexities and his penchant to distract, he is a beast of a competitor who truly wants to win. Stay tuned for more throughout the day. - Sam Amick
The other part of the Artest e-mail (read below) included a request to call his agent, Mark Stevens. After doing so, this latest update took a turn that you all could have certainly seen coming. It went back the other way, of course. For all you fans who have taken the "let me know on June 30" approach, please ignore...
"They (teams) are coming after him, but at the end of the day, people make comments all the time, reporters like yourself," Stevens said. "But like I've said, the Maloofs have been good to Ron and to us and we want to try to do the same to them."
Any chance the agent and the athlete don't see eye to eye at the moment?
"We have a good working relationship; we see eye to eye," he said. "He knows that I have his best interests and I'll never not have his best interests."
So you're still planning for him to stay in a Kings uniform?
"As of right now, yes sir," he said. - Sam Amick

Re: Players worked out by Kings...Official 2008 Draft Thread
Apparently, according to nbadraft.net, the Clips are trading up to 4 to get WESTBROOK, not Gordon, and the Sonics will get Brook Lopez with the 7th. That does open it up for a falling Bayless, who at worst would push Augustin back towards us.

Re: Players worked out by Kings...Official 2008 Draft Thread
artest pisses me off...just make a decision already. If he ends up opting out after the draft it will be pretty messed up because the kings can address losing him in the draft.
