I've re-read Woj's article and I somehow skim past this part initially:

The Sacramento Kings are progressing rapidly in discussions with Dave Joerger, with a Monday meeting that will include owner Vivek Ranadive being the final hurdle to Joerger’s hiring as head coach, league sources told The Vertical.

So, next meeting (tomorrow), Vivek will be there with Vlade.

I think that is what Marc Stein was alluding to.

Really, after 19 pages and a lot of back and forth, if the deal is made with Joerger, to have a coach that the consensus stands behind and who wants to be here fall into our laps and this is the first step back to legitimacy

Man if we actually land Him tomorrow it would be a huge win for this team. Future would be brighter that's for sure

Meeting the boss? Sounds like a done deal to me. It also sounds like Joerger is at heart more of an uptempo coach, which I'm not sure how I feel about that if true, but that should get the dotted line all nice and prepped by Vivek for signing.

I think the reason why Joerger wanted to push the pace because those Grizz teams usually hover dead-last in pace -- Joerger wanted to balance that with more quicker offensive sets, get the ball pass the halfcourt line more quickly, spread the floor with shooters to open up the post, etc. But that being said, he ultimately played to the team's strength and kept the pace appropriate to the roster.

With the Kings, I think he will have better personnel to make his "vision" more realistic. Lets hope it isn't at a break-neck pace though -- just like with Karl's Kings last season.

Yeah, he sounds a lot like McHale in terms of how they think. Simply having a coach that doesn't try and force a square peg into a round hole is where it's at for me.

Lets also hope he's puts pressure on Vlade to bring in some hard nosed defenders.

Why would Vlade need pressure. He targeted Wes Matthews, Danny Green and drafted WCS. That doesn't look like a guy who who'd need pressure to bring in defenders

I think Joerger is really close to Mike Conley, and wanted to push the pace for his benefit. If anything, Joerger is adaptable.

Joerger is an outstanding fit for the Kings. Good for Vlade

I can't believe he fell into our lap like this.

Now my hope is he actually coaches for us through that entire contract.

Great for us to get the deal done quickly. Couldn't have worked out any better.

I hope there was some sort of promise between Joerger and Vlade that unless he's on some George Karl-esque sabotage like coaching, that he would guarantee he would see his three years through and then evaluate his performance for the fourth year option. Great hire, great contract. Not often have we seen the Kings get something right as of late.

With this move I hope Cousins will come to the realization that he HAS to get along with everyone and become the leader we need. He certainly must realize that if we fail again next year he will be scapegoated.

Yeah. This move signals to me that this is cousins last chance to act right.
