So you think the players that are giving these interviews about him are lying?

Of course, it's ok to be skeptical because he hasn't played a game yet but I don't think anyone has said that he is gonna be anything. They are just happy he looks good to the people who have seen him on the court.

Isn’t what you said about equal to unknown but promising.

KF10 wrote:Z-Bo is an expiring after next season (final year: $11,692,308). He's useful in that regard. There will always be a team will want to clear space. We can probably squeeze and asset or two out of Z-Bo if other teams are desperate for clearing for cap space.

ZBo isn’t the only one. Assuming they all opt in.. most of the team is on an expiring contract: ZBo, Shumpert, KK, Temple, WCS

Team Options on: Fox, Skal, Buddy, Jackson

We only have like 10M locked in for 2019-20

That wasn't what I was responding to. I was responding to you saying "The word sounds good but do you really trust this organization?"

What does that have to do with players saying what they see in practice?

If he was bad or just meh they wouldn't bring it up at all.

Yeah I have made the same argument, although as someone pointed out what are they going to say if asked about him. The media around the Kings doesn’t exactly play hardball however. Especially Grant. So we have to really wait and see before we know for sure. I don’t think it’s unreasonable.

I already answered that. You're just going in circles now. No one ever said we knew anything. Of course we have to wait. Once again tho it has nothing to do with "trusting the org" and the players giving him high in practice are doing so because that is what they see. That is it. We don't know what it will translate to on the court but it is a good sign.

And you can miss me with the Grant hate.

I don’t know if this is true. They could be bringing it up because he’s an unknown quantity, who did have some fanfare and hype coming into the season.

It would be great if we could actually see some clips of what he’s doing

Well then just go on not knowing then.

I'll choose to believe that he looks much improved in practice and take it for what it is instead of trying to cast doubt just for the sake of it like you and Sactowndog seem to want to do.

Depressing seeing how many times some of these playoff teams have rebuilt in the time we were last in the playoffs.. And we’re still searching, and things still aren’t secure..

Pain is going to linger for awhile more.

Without the pick next year we need some home runs man.

Fate owes us the number 1 pick. We may have a 5.3% odds, but karma has to have our odds at 50% for having to deal with it

I guess this is what it looked like when we were getting trashed nationally. I feel for 76ers fans. No fan should have to go through this.

Touché. There will always be outliers (Kings fans included), but in general I don’t like drama like this. It’s bad for all parties.

Getting the number 2 was a step in the right direction, truly. It’ll be a buyers market in FA, with not a stiff amount of competition of cap dollars, so I expect at least another upside pick like a Hezonja if all the prizes FAs are out of reach. If Giles is solid, before you know it there is at least the foundation of watching solid basketball.

With that said, the negative elements at the core of the franchise need to be on the road to being neutralized. We can’t have a consensus bottom 3 GM going forward that I as a fan have no trust in. Vlade needs to be usurped, fired, or start to have a real rally turnabout this summer in terms of how he’s perceived by the fan base and how his moves look on paper. He needs to be trusted to have the acumen of a standard GM (so next year I’m not wondering if the FO is capable of giving us nice things and doing a reputable job). The rep around Vivek has to subside, like yesterday. And he needs to be trusted with his hires. If it doesn’t, he needs to go. Joerger, same deal. We need to move forward to even ground over the coming years without a deleterious reputation, and being solid at all levels and that starts this summer

But, the roster itself, given how I appreciate Fox/Buddy/Bogdan, how we landed the 2, how Giles looked in his latest less than a minute clip, and the fact I think we can add someone this summer at least I feel as if there is a competitive player foundation (as competing for a playoff seed), which is more than we’ve had

I'm a rebel. I love Vlade and Joerger. They have completely fixed the culture of the team, brought something to look forward to, and I think have actually done a good job in comparison to most other GM's and coaches. Hindsight is 20/20. Go to each GM and coaching staff and look at every move they make and where it has all gotten them and you can be negative about most of them. At the end of the day, We have a nice core of Fox, Buddy, Bogi, Giles, and the 2nd pick, along with other young pieces and good leadership. I'm very optimistic about the direction we're in. Vlade was in a terrible position when he took over. He made mistakes and he made good moves, just like every other GM. I'm a big fan of the good moves. Where we are now is what matters, and I like it. Constant negativity and pessimism helps nothing and is a product of many years of losing before Vlade and Joeger. Vivek saved our team and I give him a lifetime pass for it, because having this team means so much to me. I don't care how unpopular that is. I don't forget the good things. Some of you only remember the bad. I'm just happy we have our team and we have a bright future. I love watching our players develop and I love that we have players who are easy to root for.

As for Vivek saving the team, that may be a subjective thing, but I’m under the impression there wasn’t an absolute shortage of financial “whales”, given the mayors comments that they needed to turn down investment in the end and the financial viability (how the NBA has already appreciated) that the team represented. Or that if he wasn’t in the picture, it may have been another figure or figures leading the financial push. At least that’s how I perceived it personally

Yeah, that is where the FA period of last year hurt us. Instead of bringing in Randolph, Carter and Hill they should have trusted the process and the tank and taken on contracts for picks for '19. (IMO)
