Actually I think most of us are extremely reluctant to include him and would prefer not to. I've also seen a lot of Spurs fans who would prefer to just develop Castle and not waste assets on Fox.

I'm kind of in the middle. I would be extremely hesitant to include him in any deals but it depends on what the rest of the package looks like.

I think I'd like to see something like: Vassell/Sochan/Johnson + 2-3 1sts and 2031 swap rights extinguished for Fox and Huerter. But admittedly that may be overly optimistic

To me none of the filler stuff matters to me.

Castle + Collins + Tre + ATL 1st + Sac 1st relinquished.

That should be agreeable to both. Spurs still have a treasure chest to work with. Still have Keldon/Barnes deals to get another stud. Still have Vassell/Sochan/Champagnie.

Kings take 2 upside home run swings, none of the filler. We either need a replacement for Fox or we go nowhere. Vassell aint changing the fortune, just locking us into mediocrity, but he's a good 4th piece in the eventual Fox/Wemby/3rd banana crew.

Realistically that is probably fair, value-wise. But including Castle AND the 2025 ATL pick...I just don't see SA going for it. Spurs have always been a conservative franchise and I get the feeling they really highly value that 2025 ATL pick. I'd suggest removing Castle if the sticking point is the 25 pick, or removing the 25 pick and changing it to some other variation of pick(s) instead and removing Castle

Doesn't SA have the 2027 ATL pick? that would be fine. Just don't want a Spurs pick as its likely by next year that is a bottom 5 pick. OKC level climb is next for Spurs.

Very. That would just be so, so bad.

Oh I'll be upset but not surprised. Only thing is we won't be getting Jimmy. We will be getting Brad Beal + picks, which is the worst possible outcome. Watch as they try to sell it to us as a good thing. Then trade Huerter/Lyles for Collins. You guys wanted moves, we made them! Got 3 1sts + a former all star + a new big man!

Monk/Carter
Beal/Keon
Keegan
Collins
Sabonis

Mega wow!

Definitely upset. If Fox goes its gotta be for younger players and picks.

Also less than zero chance Butler wants to be here.

The Kings FO risk wasting Sabonis' prime years if they trade Fox and DeRozan for rookies +picks. Might as well trade Sabonis, too and blow it up. The thing is do we really have faith in the current front office to be the ones to blow it up?

I mean our ceiling right now is what? Hosting a play-in game? We had the anomaly in 2022-2023 where we were insanely lucky with health. Our best hope is to do a full rebuild unless we just wanna live on the play-in game treadmill for Sabonas prime.

Not even the direction of the team

Castle hasn’t shown anything on the court and is valued highly in taking up assets , team trying to win

Even if you don’t expect a high return that’s disgusting

Wouldn’t pay a significant asset to go from DDR to Jimmy due age, availability, and other factors

Absolutely not. If you must trade Fox, you need castle or you wait until the summer. Summer you fire monte/Wilcox and you bring in the new regime to trust with this.

Demar idc tbh. Trade him for whatever. Appreciate you coming, but he was never a part of the core only a bandaid who didn't really solve a problem.

I would guess that the possibility of a Fox trade is probably holding up the Collins deal? Any news on your end?

Domas/Monk/Demar are in their primes, they need help on the court, not question marks with raw kids

Demar is fine where he is. Good vet and you’re not recouping that swap. That interview is a LONG way from him demanding out, people are looking for stuff

This team is a .500 ball club with fox. Swapping fox for vassell doesn't make this team better.

Writing is on the wall.

Any team with half a brain brings in a castle. Demar can go also, he's a ball stopper. Make sure he takes huerter who sucks ass.

We can retool around sabonis over the next 16 months. Give me castle, give me some more forwards who can shoot and defend. We can be the Rockets.

Castle = amen (defensive wing with potential)
Sabonis = sengun (all star offense only big)
Monk = Jalen green (inefficient streaky scorer)
Keegan = jabari Parker (defensive wing who shows flashes)

Now we need an Eason, dillon brooks, fvv, adams.. but we would be well on our way to that kind of roster construction.

Nobody is throwing away Demar, he’s done his part (more than Fox) and he’s costed an asset and is a good vet.

Castle represents a large part of the trade equity if not all, that can actually add non question marks to the team of vets. Role players that need to be added. This is you doing what a couple of what you were doing at draft time, getting excited at shiny new objects when team is trying to compete (and did try to trade the pick)

don't forget about Ainge and the Jazz. They've got the salary ballast, the young players and draft picks to get it done. Ainge is crazy enough to do it regardless of being able to sign Fox long-term. He's all about hitting home-runs. The worst that could happen is he trades Fox at next year's deadline or acts as a sign-and-trade partner and gets a huge return that way. I think he'd prefer watching Fox over the next year than Sexton, Collier and George. I'm sure the fans and Lauri would too.

Well we should.

Need to hold the entire team to the same syandard.

We were up in arms with fox going on the podcast to speak on his future. Set a precedent, no more airing laundry. Bye bye demar, 35 hit the road with your buddy. Black hole on offense anyways.

And again don't forget the pt, we are .500 club with fox. We don't get better swapping him for vassell.

Oh and castle is good, unlike carter who isn't. Not sure what the hell Monte saw in carter, but this hasn't been the kid you draft a bad position and wait for an injured guy. He's undersized, can't dribble, cant shoot. Reminds me of bagley, he can double jump though.

Early morning thoughts. Report yesterday kings covet castle, spurs may not include him. Sac should hold the line.

Keep hearing how fox won't return a Mitchell style return. Mitchell went for a haul
Collin Sexton (solid guard)
Lauri Markkanen (potentially star)
Ochai Agbaji (lotto pick)
2025 first-round pick
2026 pick swap
2027 first-round pick
2028 pick swap
2029 first-round pick

Thats a lot. I agree we don't get this, probably not close. But let's visit dejounte murray to pelicans

2 1sts + dyson daniels + nance. Dyson came out extremely raw in a good draft that had Jabari, ivey, Sharpe, Keegan, chet, paolo and more. He also went to a super deep pelicans team where he was the 10th option, not because he's bad because the pelicans were known to be deep.

But reality is dyson who is a year older than castle looks and projects pretty similar.
Good defender
Shaky shooter
Questions about his long term position on ball/off ball guard.

Kings getting 2 1sts + castle is a pretty similar return to what Atlanta got for dejounte (better, but not much).

Fox is much better than dejounte, and dejounte was coming off two bad seasons in Atlanta where he clearly didn't fit. Spurs also have wemby, pelicans did this move going on all in for a constant injury concern known as zion.

Hold the line. If spurs don't want to give castle that's fine, but I'm not interested in a vassell or sochan as the juice of a Fox trade. We have 1.5 years left of fox, and reports it was actual sac who put him on the block. If we want him gone, and he wants to go, both sides benefit from a trade rather than him walking in FA.

Dejounte has 21 triple doubles. Fox has one. I'm not questioning Fox's utter talents, but the criteria for comparison can be different. IMO Dejounte fits Kings better than Fox. Although Fox is brighter.

Return to Sacramento Kings
