I'm okay with the pick I guess, I dunno, I trust Petrie....I think...I hope.

However, I just wanted to point out again, that EVERYTHING MATTERS.

Again, if we don't start rebuilding now, we might as well give up.

Bayless/Roy/Webster/Aldridge/Oden
Fernadez/Rodiguez/Blake/Outlaw/Priz

I give up.

What I've been right about so far...

Westbrook going in the single digits - except I didn't expect it to be Seattle... wow

Gordon going to the Clip Show

Augustin going before us - though didn't quite think it'd be to Charlotte, I thought that was a possibility, but thought of others as more likely

Bayless not lasting till 12 - just made it, he would of been great to pick

Mayo going to Minnesota - I've really gotten to dig Mayo, he's going to be a terrific player,

Kings not picking Randolph

Alexander going to the Bucks, still, despite the Nets trade

Bulls picking Rose

I'm okay with Thompson, I trust Petrie.

Just, I'm sure Petrie would have picked Bayless instead if we had been given the chance.

Nope, not at all.

From Draft Express:

Strengths

• Size
• Length
• Frame
• Mobility/Agility
• Touch
• Good hands
• Ability to run the floor
• Ability to face the basket
• Mid-range jumper
• Ball-handling skills for position
• Unselfish
• Solid passer
• Intangibles
• Productive rebounder
• Shows flashes of great potential
• Still has upside

Weaknesses

• Didn’t always dominate against weak competition
• Gives up position in the post
• Struggles guarding perimeter
• Extremely poor all-around defender
• Lacks focus
• Suspect Basketball IQ/Awareness
• Doesn’t know his limitations
• Settles for bad shots
• Lacks toughness/Not always physical enough
• Needs to add strength

I don't care where Arthur goes - I'm just glad it wasn't Phoenix, that'd create somewhat of a conflict for me since I don't and can't root for that team.

I'll admit I'm surprised he hasn't gone anywhere yet, though :)

Nice pick by Cleveland, I really like Hickson

If Pertie Indeed wanted Bayless, and let Portland get that deal, the 2 games are the least of our problem.
I don't know who Petire wanted, to his credit it should be noted that he was never part of the herd and followed his own instincts which while drafting has always been great, and I always have a big red flag on PG who we should wait till they develop PG skills, but if Petrie did want Bayless and let that happen it's directly his fault and not the standing, simple as that, that Portland offer should've easily been topped.

I'll trust Petrie's pick, but I can't hide my disapointment.

NBADraft.net has him at 8/10 defense, but DraftExpress says he's a very poor defender...

What's this "I just wanted an interior defender"? Come on, what's important is that he has the skills to be a decent interior defender who can also score & pass. I think we're getting too caught up on this interior defender physical inside guy. To me you still want a guy who can hurt the other team on offense.

Sure, I am mad because I think Bayless was a perfect fit for Martin but it's a draft and sometimes that's how things go. Maybe the Nets weren't biting. Pacers sure wasn't talking since that trade was obviously set up when both teams saw Bayless droping like he was.

We have to move on like I said Jamont Gordon & George Hill are still out there let's see how it turns out. And I am sure Portland will be looking to move Rodriquez and there's Lowry or Conley. Calm down guys.......

I think Thompson really can be better than some people think

If he's just a relatively average defensive player, though? - blah... search continues

Well, we still have 2 more picks in the 2nd round and there are more PGs available. And some of those likely available are intriguing. The night ain't over and there's still some damage that can be done.

Hmmm...with 21 picks in, Arthur is still available. Looks to me like a lot of teams are really gun shy about him calling off some workouts because of back issues. I wonder how far he will fall...

As expected, Lee goes to Orlando - they loved him at the end of the pre-draft processes, and all reports said they'd take him

You know, I really can't find anything wrong with Thompson. Obviously, people weren't going to pick him until later, but he is a sound pick.

and LOL at Anderson (Cal) and Lopez (Stanford) on the same team. PERFECT!

Return to Sacramento Kings
