Honestly, I don't think we should make any moves. We are reintroducing players from injuries. That's enough disruption already. There's no great move to be made and this roster has no big needs.

I agree here.
IMO the FO did a nice job of building the roster and a few things haven’t gone to plan ie Dedmon, injuries to Bags and Fox.
The second thing could have had an impact on the 1st too.

At the end of the day Dedmon will be useful as an injury replacement.
I would just see out Giles on the team, but having said that I don’t think we know his true situation.

Swanigan getting garbage time minutes over Giles is telling. Something is up for sure. Total speculation looking at Giles IG posts its not his health. He's upset.

If the bridge is burned just trade him. I really dont understand what happened and how it happened so fast.

Yeah I don’t get how it has developed like this if he is healthy.
I would like to keep him I guess as a PR kind of move, but if he isn’t going to play and he’s upset, use it to get him to a situation where he can play.

The thing I really don’t understand is declining his option would have to be centred around his health, wouldn’t it? Or did the FO just completely turn off Giles, which is weird because he showed so much.

Any thoughts on the Kuzma for Bogdanovic rumor? I like Kuzma, but I don't know if it's an upgrade or sideways move. He also seems redundant next to Barnes unless you're planning on playing them together as switchable 3-4's. I also doubt Vlade's really thinking of moving on from Bogi, but wanted to know thoughts.

Can you link the rumour?

My bad. I just saw it on my Google news feed and did no research on it. It was from The Inquisitr who got it from LA Sports Hub which was just proposing the trade after hearing the idea of the trade from Brian Windhorst and Bill Simmons who were talking about who the Lakers should trade for... My bad! I was suckered by a headline.

That’s no worries. I was wondering if it had developed or not. The Kings need more 3 point shooting. Not less, so I was wondering why in the world the FO would consider the rubbish that has been created by a few LA websites.

Fair trade? That first round pick would be lottery protected btw. And I very well expect y'all to be a playoff team next season so that first round pick would most likely break off into two second rounders.

Dedmon wants out. Kings have potential to add some value. IMO Vlade won't need to add value to move him

Protections or not, the Kings are in no position to trade future 1sts for a 30 year old :uhoh: rental. My counter:

Raps trade
Serge Ibaka

Kings trade
Dedmon
Ariza
2019 2nd

You'll probably say no but this is the kind of deal Vlade should fish for.

Where are the cap experts at? Is there any way the Kings can pull off Buddy Hield for Jrue Holiday swap?

Masai & Vlade should meet in the middle - Ibaka for Bjelica + 2021 1st round pick [NO PROTECTIONS]

I’m going to reiterate what City of Trees said: The Kings are in NO position to be trading firsts. It’s not happening. Players can go, but the team cannot and will not mortgage the future right now.

This team needs to move everything that isn’t young now IMO

The priority now is getting high picks

Vlade needs to be fired, and Hinkie is sitting out there.

Either way, team should be sellers (then again, these vets are doing a well job tanking). I wouldn’t even entertain short term vets to get better

I would pump the breaks on any trades. This season has been in three parts:

0-5
12-9
0-6

The middle stretch was promising. Our problem has mostly been lack of playmaking. I'd get Fox back for a few weeks and see how we look. Plenty of time to make moves if we're still looking like this by the end of January.

Yep. Give it a chance, we’ve already gone against the strategy early with Dedmon.
No need to keep doing it.
They need a decent amount of time together to say it won’t work, although it’s already a different team with Bagley and Holmes.

For me it’s about the best way for this franchise to acquire high end talent

That’s getting very good draft picks

This team is sitting on the treadmill line with these vets, but could with a western conference schedule could get below everyone sans Atlanta with a overhaul

Yes, I think the team may feel better and win some games. May even be competitive in the coming years

Still, I feel if you re set around Fox/Bagley/James/maybe keep Holmes too/and high draft picks this year and next might be the higher ceiling route

Dewayne Dedmon with the most polite trade request ever.

Throw in a 2021 or 22 ATL 2nd and you got a deal.

Return to Sacramento Kings
