Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

Well, in the first half the guy killing us was Baron. In the second half it was Biedrins. That's a pretty simple explanation of why we could never really make a real comeback in this game. We actually got a few stops, but it's not a stop if you don't get the defensive rebound. That was really the difference throughout. Spencer got 5 rebounds, Biedrins got 17. Harrington got 7 rebounds. Mikki got 1. ONE!

The usual issues... heh
Definitely a good game for the younger guys, if not just for significant playing time
Kevin and Garcia were especially tremendous... Martin's back down spin baseline dunk and show of swagger afterwards was awesome! I've seen him show a nastiness to him at times before, but I want to see it a bit more often.
Garcia's jumpshot has really come along nicely now, this game was just another example of that. Along with his confidence.
Hawes offensive had some good scores, even if against a smaller team, it's good that he was just getting oppurtunities scoring down low. Missed all of his jumpers I think. Defensively it wasn't a decent night for him.
Shelden had kind of a mixed game, but I still dig all the time he got, and was a factor out there at times on both ends. With work on his game and coaching, I believe he can be an pretty solid big man in some way.
Moore getting 1 rebound against small Golden State is just insane

I got to go to the game (for the NON-Game events see the Random Community thread)
Overall I was impressed we stayed in it. We played a hot team and almost kept pase without Ron Ron. Godawsome to see Kevin and Garcia lighting it up, and I was the only one who exploded when Martin got that dunk.
Moore played like crud. What did he have, 3 turnovers in the first 80 seconds... good to see Shelden and Hawes get major time.
Best part of the game... that none of you probably heard... when they started the kings starting five they said "a 8th year player from New Mexico..." and I was like O_O KENNY THOMAS?! But they said "John Salmons." XD XD XD

Actually I think that this is a very important loss for us. We gave our youth the opportunity to play through their mistakes and we lost the game. But, thats ok because of the learning experience for the players and what our coaching staff is learning about it's players.
What we learned.
Hawes needs a rebounder next to him.
Shelden needs to drop weight.
Martin has come along way as a number one option.
Garcia and Salmons are great with extended minutes.
We need a real PG.
Hawes needs to focus on not being pulled out of position by attempting ill advised blocks.
Shelden needs a bigman coach this summer.
We can trade Artest because our wings are talented.
If given time Douby will become a solid rotation guy, but still needs work.
Every game is important for one reason or another, this one was important because we were allowed to lose with our future guys taking up major minutes.

Badly. Also tonight reminded me of how much of a project he really is. I believe the Kings brass realize this and they will work closely with him this offseason in developing his body and just him being big
Shelden needs to drop weight.
I think he's listed at 260 or so? But its possible he's closer to 270-275. I think a perfect weight for him is 240-245. He'll be a lot quicker on his feet and off the ground which will greatly improve his rebounding and defense. I still think he can be a good player for us off the bench. A positive is Theus knows how important this is and I think they'll get him in shape this summer.
Martin has come along way as a number one option.
Theus working with him has really improved his game. He actually took Monta in the post a few times. I'd still like to see him improve his defense as he does have the physical tools to do so.
Garcia and Salmons are great with extended minutes.
Agreed. The Kings deepest positions by far. Unfortunately, when Martin/Artest/Garcia/Salmons are all playing 1 will get left out, and considering Garcia is better as a role player it will almost always be Salmons. Salmons or Artest Kings need to make a decision.
We can trade Artest because our wings are talented.
If we do trade him it's because of his age and not his play. Artest is our best player, even better than Martin IMO. But with us rebuilding by the time we get back to contending he'll probably be around 32 or so, wasting a few his prime. I think it might be best to get value for him now as we have a special player in Salmons locked up with the MLE for a few years.
If given time Douby will become a solid rotation guy, but still needs work.
I think Douby's ceiling is a mix between Jannero Pargo and Leandro Barbosa. He can still be an important player to this franchise. Im still high on him he just needs to improve his basketball IQ and get the opportunity. Hopefully next year he gets consistent PT and improved production.

Hawes needs a rebounder next to him.
Yup. I've thought so since we drafted him.
Shelden needs to drop weight.
Yes. He will.
Martin has come along way as a number one option.
As "a" #1 option, yeah. Been impressive and fun to watch.
Garcia and Salmons are great with extended minutes.
Yeah, this has been evident since last season, and especially earlier this season.
We need a real PG.
Yup. I've thought so since 06.
Hawes needs to focus on not being pulled out of position by attempting ill advised blocks.
Yes. Typical thing for young big men... Hawes needs to become relatively disciplined as a defender. When to go for a block, and when not to, by using size and positioning. Staying solid. He has defended right at times, and wrong at others.
Shelden needs a bigman coach this summer.
Yeah, but the team needs one in general also, and will get him.
We can trade Artest because our wings are talented.
Well this has been evident for a year and a half, things just haven't been there internally and externally to trade Ron. Still a who knows situation what his fate will be next fall.
If given time Douby will become a solid rotation guy, but still needs work.
Probably. First he has to start getting consistent minutes, along with continued work on his game. His oppurtunities have been erratic, limited, or none so far. I've really liked what he's shown well so far.

Garcia is like the Dunleavy of Sacramento. Teasing the fans by tearing it up when it doesn't much matter anymore.
Martin is a stud, but I'd like to see him more involved on the defensive side of things. He seems kind of soft and passive. You definitely need more out of your guard when you have Spencer Hawes or Mikki Moore swatting at flies in the paint.
John Salmons is a keeper IMO. It comes down to the Kings having no big out there.
