of course they will, tilman fertitta already said hes gonna pay the luxury if they have a realistic shot at the championship and given they were really close to it last season, thats worth paying the luxury, more so they gave 33 yo cp3 4/160... now why would they do that if they gonna let capela walk, that doesnt make any sense... they have no shot at the championship without cp3 or capela, that much is clear... they go all in

They are at the tax now, and still have a lot of roster spots to fill. I don’t think they match a healthy offer

I think there is a better chance Portland would match on Nurkic with Allen, don’t you? Kings won’t waste their time if there is

Lol, dudes on this board are trippin. Capela is not leaving Houston and we are going to sign Super Mario to a multi-year overpay. Unless he burns us and signs that one year Knicks offer...now that would be a bad look for the Kings! :noway:

With Bucks signing Ilyasova and bringing back Jennings we could get Parker. I'd be all for that. He'd start at SF and can also be stretch 4. How about a 1+1 something like 2 yrs $36 million.

There is not a lot of cap space left and still many tax concerned teams, could get a lot of assets now

I have a sense that the Zach Lavine stuff is just smokescreen or feeling out what the offers need to be to keepntwams from matching. Ultimately that seems a foolish move for a position we already barely have enough young minutes to go around.

I have a sense that the way that so many teams are cap and tax locked that the FO is waiting to see what kind of junk they can pick up to stock the draft pick war chest a la Danny Ainge style.
You have to admit, when Ainge started his process people were skeptical. But look at that team now. He was patient. Drafted and developed young players. Stocked up on quality value picks tonite or trade and through that process opened up tons of cap on a rolling year to year basis and basically is now sitting in not only a contender, but what as is will likely be one of two or three teams that can legitimately challenge the dubs for the title.
I’m good with that kind of build and I can be patient as long as there is positive forward progress.
Remember that traditionally any team that is fifty wins it better is in the contention talk. Winning sixty okusntakes an incredibly lucky year and is not a measure that a team is any more talented than a fifty plus win team. Most often it is injury luck and experience that fills that gap.

It seems like Denver is trying to land LeBron even though they have very little chance.

If it somehow happens, they would be desperate to move some contracts such as, Faried, Chandler and Millsap. Maybe even Barton, who they've just signed (if its possible). Kings are the one of small number of teams that can help. We can easily get MPJ for eating up Faried contract in such a scenario.

I'm not on the Hezonja train. He was bad when I scouted him during his draft year. He was a one dimensional player and was simply not playing the game on the level of his team mate at the time Rudy Fernandez or Doncic this year. You would never see him getting a sneaky steal, getting a rebound outside his area, making a play for somebody else out of nowhere.

It's the smart play for Sac. If the Kings are going to be more competitive this year it's going to come from within, not from any signing unless they get LeBron.

I'm down with Parker but I think they'll match anyway and figure it out later. If Sacramento wants Parker I'd initiate some sort of sign and trade and flip them Skal or Willie. I'm starting to think Bagley at center is going to be how he is used for the most part when they start making sense of the pieces they have. Parker as that combo F next to him is a lot of talent in the front court that fits the modern NBA. If the Kings did want Parker, which I'm not sure they do, then they should get rolling quick before the Lakers have to start blowing their cap again on their own plan B's.

I think it doesn't matter, Lavine was the main get when they traded Butler, they aren't going to let him walk on principle alone.

Knicks have offered Mario Hezonja a portion of the midlevel exception on a one-year deal

At least a huge overpay seems less likely now.

I hope not. I’m not real big on him. Another athletic type that gets hurt a lot.

It seems like the B and C level guys are already settling for pretty friendly (read cheap and short) deals that are easy to manage/move.
And it’s not just to get to contenders either.

I think the Hezonja interest isn’t there on our part, thankfully. I’d prefer bigger names or assets.

Assets and finally committing to Bogdan and Buddy and I'm good. I'm not even sure that getting a combo F is that important any more. The Kings made their bed cornering the market on combo 4/5's so I say see if it works out.

Yes it’s supposed to be on some ESPN channel.

Return to Sacramento Kings
