Re: The TRADE Thread 2021
Would you guys do a Barnes, Hield, Bagley, Thompson, Halliburton trade for Simmons and Harris?

I really hope you guys dont deal for Simmons.
The ball needs to be in Fox/Haliburtons hands.
I come in peace though with a thought on a trade.
Schroder, Horford, PJ Washington Boston 1st to Sacramento
Homes and Romeo Langford to Charlotte
Buddy, Mitchell and Plumblee to Boston

You value Mitchell pretty high as a 3rd poing guard.

Mitchell is operating as a third PG, because the Kings have Fox and Hali in front of him. Not because of ability. When your fellow Celts fans are telling you that your trades are completely biased that should tell you something. There is no path to a trade with the Kings for any of the Kings young players unless Brown or Tatum is coming back.

LOLOLOLOL
Mitchell, by your own accord is not better than either fox or Hali, yet is only obtainable if Brown or Tatum are traded? lol Precious.
I can only imagine what it is like living in a world where Mitchell, a 23 year old player who is blocked by 2 better players and Buddy Heild, a grossly overpaid malcontented 1 dimensional player is not worth PJ washington, expiring PG who off the bench is putting up 16 ppg, a cap clearing vet center who is getting after it defensively and can spread the floor AND a 1st rounder.
if mitchell is worth more than all of that I guess you deem Halliburton and Fox worthy to be traded only for Doncic or Giannis.
LOL

I gotta give it to that Celtics fan. Hes hell bent on dumping horford. Unfortunately that trade sucks for sac.
Horford is a bad contract, we aren't moving mitchell and Holmes for horford and PJ lol. That's absolutely terrible for sac.

Mitchell isn't worth brown or tatum, but there's nothing else on the Celtics we want.Larry_Russell wrote:kb02 wrote:Larry_Russell wrote:

Schroder does absolutely nothing for us. Horford is not cap clearing, he makes almost 30 million next year he's a bad contract. You will have to pay significantly to dump him. PJ hasn't take any leaps this year, but even if we wanted him we could figure a trade out directly with Charlotte without moving Mitchell.

Re: The TRADE Thread 2021
Brooklyn is trying to win a title man, they aren't going to trade harden to Philly. He's much better than fox and Barnes, and that strengthens their competition.OGSactownballer wrote:I have been thinking this through and a three team deal that centers around Fox and Barnes going to Brooklyn, Harden and parts going to Philly and Simmons and Harris coming to Sac actually makes a lot of sense and creates roster balance for both the other teams and transforms Saf to a defensive monster.
There are a lot of other ancillary parts that have to come into play including at least two picks (ideally ‘23 and ‘25) coming from Sac with one going to each team. I’m not thinking that Buddy needs to go and actually it may be better to have his shooting stay here. Keep in mind that we have TT and Marvin to include and they represent about 23 million in expiring money. So with Fox and Barnes and those two the money is there to cover both incoming salaries.
In Brooklyn they would slide Kyrie to the two as the primary scoring guard which should work fine as he has the size to handle that. That backcourt is virtually unguardable and you run Barnes next to Durant.
In Philly you have your pairing of Joel and Harden and whatever Brooklyn includes to make things balance money wise.
In Sac you have a starting lineup of Mitchell/Halliburton/Simmons/Harris/Holmes. You instant transform into a nightmare defensive team and most importantly in the modern NBA where teams live and die by the three, a lockdown perimeter defensive team. Secondary moves can be made to fill in needs but there is already existing shooting with Buddy and Davis to flex in situationally. We haven’t given up any of the young bigs (Queta/Jones/Metu) and that also makes Holmes a value piece that can be safely moved and increase the size/interior defensive presence to balance the perimeter.
I don’t know if this is the kind of thing g that is being discussed but it sure does make BASKETBALL sense for everyone involved.
And thinking about it while the picks could be added as sweetener/get it done incentive, realistically with the balance of the rosters they aren’t a necessity.
Quick edit I just realized the pieces to go to Oholly would have to be Marvin and TT to make the money work and fill their PF spot. Sorry that was a miss by me.
If you are Brooklyn you see a very hard path to Philly opening up that level of cap space.
Also I don't really think that's a nightmare defensive team for sac. Tobias/Holmes is a bad defensive front court, like really really bad. Haliburton is good in the passing lanes, but he's a pretty bad man defender at this point in his career. Mitchell/Simmons are good, but they can overcome how bad the rest of that team/coaching is defensively.

Apparently this is you saying Buddy hield is a star and Davion is worth jaylen brown lol. He calls Kings fans "delusional"
Yes we are delusional because we won't trade Davion for horford and Schroder. Even Lakers fans have more awareness not to offer us deandre and Westbrook for Davion then talk about Westbrook stats as justification lol.

He’s not the only one.
There’s another on the T and T board that has a delusional Horford dump for Barnes with a crappy protected pick.
There is no world where we have even an inkling or interest in a used up overpaid Horford. None. There’s not any monetary reason. There is certainly not a talent/difference reason. And the comparison of talent is irrelevant in the rest of the argument.
Ultimately there is ONE player (treating Tatum as totally untouchable) that we would be interested in from the Celts and that’s Brown. And I don’t believe that he has shown that he is worth an overpay because he’s not a number one on a contending team.

I get what you are saying. But there’s a lot of noise around Harden being unhappy and Morey (his old boss that made him an MVP caliber player by putting him in a position to succeed) wanting him in Philly. I feel that the roster balance for Brooklyn does make sense and that they are a deeper and stronger team with that lineup. And a part of that is the type of guys there with Harden and Durant it’s two Alohas and that just doesn’t really work. Nobody wants to sacrifice. Kyrie is proven to be a highly effective number two and Fox as a number three would be devastating because he cannot be guarded by a single man.
And I am looking at that lineup for us as a top perimeter defensive team. And that doesn’t need to be final construction. Let’s say we move Richaun for a high caliber wing. Or a big center like Jonas who can anchor the paint? It’s not a finished product and the rest is still a year or two of growth and maturing. But I think that team can contend in 2 to 3 years and then you drop Tobias’ money off the books and look to sign a third star to go with Ben and Hali. Ideally a post fit that can demand a low double team but also has three point range.

I like Brown. I think it makes sense in a world we could pair him with Fox and Hali.
Fox and Brown, neither are #1's, both have shown they could be #2's. Hali is an elite distributor/shooter. I think those 3 together could be deadly. Look at say the end of the Detroit game. Fox is forced to drive 1 on 1 and take a bad shot. Next possession, we give TD an iso bad 3pt shot. Now imagine a world where you have Fox and Brown both as options to close out the game.
I don't see a deal that really works unless Boston decides those 2 won't work no matter what. But I think they explore adding a shooter first.

Ya I don't doubt that the smoke around Harden to Philly is real.
But if you are Brooklyn, you take your championship now and figure that out later.
1. Moving Harden to Philly creates an absolute monster and you could see them knock you out come playoff time.
2. Philly has a mountain to climb to free up the kind of cap it takes to sign Harden. They are listed with -17 million in practical cap space next year, meaning they have to open up what, 60 million to sign Harden? That's dumping Tobias + Simmons while only taking back 10-15 million for next year.
From the Philly perspective.
1. Why get the Nets anything for Harden if he wants to sign in the summer? I'm sure Sacramento would happily take Tobias with Simmons if they didn't have to give Fox/Hali.
2. Would you rather strengthen Sacramento or the Nets?
My opinion is that if Harden to Philly is real, we can capitalize better with Philly without bringing the Nets into the fold. And that neither the Nets or Philly are in a rush to help each other.
I'm willing to accept the team may be better with Simmons than Fox. I've said that from the get, but how much better? We need to add a star to the core. We can't just keep swapping our best for another best when neither is good enough to lead a team and wonder why we don't improve. We have to build off something. Id rather add Simmons to Fox/Hali fit be damned. Put talent on the court and see what happens.

Yep. Though we might need to put in a first or two and make it a three teamer
Fox has no fit with Simmons, and many feel Fox just needs a new home at this point
