Easy no. WCS has defensive anchor potential and don't really like Vuc or Payton. Kings need to improve spacing and defense.

I get the fit, but value wise the Magic are getting hosed in that deal.

Some polarizing responses so far! Appreciate the responses. I hope we can continue to discuss this or possibly other options.

How was WCS used last year? Was he mostly PF next to Cousins? Or was he a backup to Cousins?

He played with Cousins quite a bit. Karl was very erratic with his lineups. I'm not too sure what position it technically was. The Kings were just a hot mess as far as their rotations and how players were used. They switched a lot of screens. He made a great combo offensively with Rondo. He got a ton of easy lobs from him. Beyond that it was hard to notice him sometimes because the team as a whole had no consistency in every respect.

WCS hard to notice? I can't get on board with that assessment.

It's hard to notice any one players contributions when the team as a whole looks like hot garbage.

Also, statistically he wasn't adding much to the picture, which is probably to be expected, but if your team defense keeps breaking down and giving up points, staying with your man won't stick out nearly as much.

Any interest in
#3 pick+
2017 pick swap w/Brooklyn+
2018 Brooklyn pick

for Cousins?
Would obviously have to be some filler including something like Avery Bradley+Kelly Olynyk.

I guess management wants Joeger to try and connect with DMC first but yeah, just wondering. Cheers.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Are you serious? Most Magic fans sound like they have soured on the idea of Payton being a starting pg in this league. EVERYONE including Magic fans know Vucevic shouldn't be starting in todays nba unless you have Ibaka next to him.

These guys both fall under the category of two players I want nothing to do with. A point who can't shoot, a center who cant defend, if you have both starting you are literally doomed. I wouldn't trade WCS for both of them without the pick swap.

No thanks, as you said Joerger signed on to coach Demarcus not to trade him. Call us next offseason if we haven't made an improvement and the Nets end up being the worst team in the league than we can talk.

DMC isn't wearing a Celtic jersey anytime soon.... And even if we trade him at the deadline or next draft we are getting Dangelo Russell or Ingram plus fillers.

Kings better not get Russell and Ingram... KINGS should never trade with LA

I don't think LA gives us both but if DMC demands out getting Russell is a hell of a haul. Yes it's LA but getting a pg that would potentially give us 20-5-5 you do

If Cousins clashes with how Joerger wants to run the team then Yes I'd be interested in a trade

Willie was mostly played at 4 last year either next to Cousins and Koufos. He and Koufos were terrible together. He and Cousins were a lot better, but not a net positive. He was a net positive when he played C without Cousins or Koufos.

The sample sizes are 455, 201, and 61 minutes with Cousins, Koufos, and at C.

While I can definitely say that Willie sucked with Koufos, the rest of the stats aren't totally conclusive. For example, probably most of the minutes Willie played at C were garbage time minutes.

I agree and I'm not a big fan of them on the Kings, but the Kings are getting a legit 18 and 8 big, and a PG who while has fallen somewhat out of favor still has some upside for a nice young role player and a marginal step forward in a questionable draft. Yes, value wise that's not a good deal for the Magic. As said, the fit isn't the greatest at all and I'd rather the Kings hang on to Cauley-Stein, but objectively speaking value wise on paper it's a poor deal for the Magic.

I'd agree at that point too. One of the reasons I'm against the notion of moving him this summer is because I think whatever his behavior is is highly correlative to the environment, but now it's on him to prove me right. I expect a mature Boogie in a structured, healthy environ

Did everyone catch the video DeMarcus posted the other day of him and Coach Joerger at the driving range? Encouraging stuff, I guess.

Welcome back to RealGM! Glad to see you posting again.

Can you say whether the Kings or Pacers initiated the George talks?

I had assumed the talks about the Lakers trading for PG was all from their side...now am wondering whether Bird could be putting it out there that he could be had for a rich package.

Thank You for the kind welcome back . As stated before I will be happy to inform of trade talks & chatter as long as all is civil as I don't have time for or need the drama .

The talks have been very mutual but initiated by Indy main parts talked about Indy trading P.George & Kings trading Gay + either our pick or 1 other names mentioned as fillers have been Ben , Marco & Darren . Package could be bigger overall but these are the starting points.

All this said This is just talk at this point not claiming it to happen IMO it will not happen unless we at least get Indy's #20 pick in return in that deal .

Also heard Boston wanting Gay in a deal were Kings may get 1 -2 later 1st round picks in a deal that would ilkely include A.Johnson

P.S. your Bucks are trying to pry Rubio from the Wolves if that happens Wolves will draft Dunn If they don't trade their pick . If wolves don't trade Rubio they are more likely trade their # 5 pick as they want a couple of veterans under Thibs . I don't think the Wolves trade Rubio either though IMO .
Noah could be on the Wolves team this season as well .
