Mavs @ Kings

Tyreke continues his quest to 20-5-5 and the Kings continue their quest to the number three slot in the lottery. It was nice seeing the Wizards beat Boston and Detroit beat Atlanta the other day. Warriors should be able to catch up to the Kings tonight since they're playing the Clippers.
Hopefully the Kings look good tonight but not TOO good.

76ers won tonight, so that puts them at 27 wins and out of the top 5 chances...so let's not blow it tonight! If the Warriors win tonight (and we lose), we will be looking closer and closer to a top 5 pick!

Wasn't expecting this one to be on NBATV...made it more difficult to find the game.
I want a win, plain and simple. The team's position from the bottom of the standings is totally meaningless to the lottery. Would much rather see the team win with poise than lose in shame.

And an extra win today is totally meaningless to next season.

Bullcrap. It builds momentum into next season and ends it on a high note, and a win against a good team like the Mavs is ALWAYS a good thing.
Like I said in the last game thread, I sure do miss the days when we had the best fans in the NBA.

Momentum into next season? Let me ask you....if you were thinking about getting season tickets next season, what would be more exciting? A top 5 pick to pair up with Evans or a 2-3 game win streak?

I'll answer by asking a SIMPLE yes or no question- aren't you sick of losing yet? Yes or no?

Yes. And getting a top 5 pick will change that. Winning these last 3 games will NOT change our season next year, but losing all 3 will.

A young team, most of whom will play together again next season, winning against a top team in the west means absolutely nothing to their future development? This is frankly one of the most ignorant and short sighted comments I've seen on this board in a long time! NOTHING replaces the experience of figuring out how to win together as a team against one of the top teams in the league. I don't care if it's the first game of the season or the last game. Young teams grow when they win. Of course if you're satisfied with a perpetually mediocre team that doesn't grow and can't figure out how to win, then you can keep on wishing for losses. You might as well also become a Clipper fan since they have an owner who seems satisfied with sabotaging his team every season.

Losing=winning? Does 2+2=5 as well?
The bolded part is NO where near certain. It's a crapshoot. Didn't we learn our lesson last season?
I think you need to learn up on some logic and NBA history.

I'd rather lose a couple more games this year and win a bunch more in the near future. The draft is the quickest way to improve. And losing helps our odds, it's that simple.

I'll still take as many ping pongs as we can get. What if we didn't get the worst record last year and dropped to the #5 spot instead?

Given the history of the lottery, if anything, we would've moved up. Just goes to show how much of a crapshoot it really is.

How did getting the top pick last year work out for the clips? Winning the lottery or even getting a top 5 pick is NO guarantee.
Furthermore, how do you like that #1 pick the Kings landed by having the worst record last season? Oh yeah...that's right...the Kings got the worst possible pick they could get out of last year's draft because they lost the lottery completely. Dont' you love that guarantee of how the worst record doesn't mean that you'll get the best pick?

We aren't saying that it's a guarantee...Our odds are just better. If you could do something to increase your odds at winning a million dollars you do it. You may still end up not winning the money but you would still do it.
