Offseason moves???
Well, the offseason is mere hours away and we are actually headed into a summer that has the potential to be quite promising!! Top draft pick, a legit star to build around, and major cap space!!! Finally. What are some moves you'd like to the see the Kings make, or think they'll make?
One name I think could be out there is Joel Przybilla. With Camby doing so well and wanting to stay, and Oden coming back I see Joel as the odd man out. I'd like to the Kings offer the Blazers a 2nd rounder and cap space for him if we can't get a major name in FA.

Re: Offseason moves???
I would like to see the kings find a way to consolidate some of the talent. Mainly speaking I'd like to see our wing rotation decrease. I prefer Tyreke to play next to Udrih so that means that we really only have 3 other spots at the wing positions that should see any minutes. SF and reserve SF and reserve SG and we have too many guys wanting minutes at those spots.
I want to see the kings target a backup PG I don't like the fact that when Beno or Tyreke get into foul trouble our team looks like it falls apart. I would look to sign a vet PG that's only a 10 min player but is experienced enough to handle the team and hold it together for a few minute stretch.
I would like to see a defensive upgrade to our front court the addition of Landry has improved our offense in the front court but we still need help defensively and on the boards. I think that this likely gets handled in the draft.
As to our rotation at the sing spot I like both Casspi and Greene at the two SF spots but I'm not a fan of Garcia as the reserve SG. I like Garcia with a different style team and Personally I think he deserves more minutes than he will find with our team. At reserve SG I want JJ Reddick, he could also take care of those 10 minutes at PG that i want covered by a veteran. He has a ridiculous 3pt shot and In general I think he can run a team effectively for a short while.
So My Ideal offseason looks like this:
draft Favors
Trade Nocioni and Garcia & 2nd for Eddy Curry
Cut eddy Curry
Sign JJ reddick
Maybe with all of our capspace that we would have after this we could look to make a big trade and really get a huge upgrade at our big positions. Maybe something like trade Hawes and Landry and Capspace to a team like the Clippers for Kaman or do the same deal for another big time upgrade at center.
New team looks like this:
Udrih/Reddick
Evans
Casspi/Greene
Landry/Favors/Brockman
Hawes/Thompson
We have a nice 3 man guard rotation that has PG Skills and enough 3pt shooting to Maximize the drive and Kick.
The SF spot is a more experienced version of our current group, I expect pretty solid growth from both guys. This position shouldn't be a weakness.
Our Front court looks fantastic with tons of versatility. I feel the rotaion needs to be shortened by 1 major contributor. We need to keep 3 of the main guys and give Brockman the rest of the minutes because he's a high energy guy that produces well in limited minutes. With this group of guys my vote would be to move Landry simply because the size of the front court would be more conducive to winning a title. Not to mention that Thompson is great off the bench and provides the same thing landry does but with better rebounding with more size and slightly better D. We keep Hawes because his ability to stretch the defense creates more room for guys like Favors and Evans to work in.

Assuming we don't get Aldrich, I'd love Przybilla if he could stay healthy. but I think I remember hearing that his injury was going to carry into next season. So that's not good news.
Also, I think we'd have to give up more to get him. Paul Allen isn't one to look to cut costs.

Re: Offseason moves???
Yeah, moving Noc should be a priority, but I just don't think it can be done w/o taking on a crappier deal. I have a feeling he requests a trade during the summer and in time becomes Kenny Thomas' replacement at the end of the bench.
Sean May from what I understand is a good dude but he just has to go, where to I have no idea but he can help a team. Depending on what the draft looks like and whether or not we bring Brockman back he could literally be the 6th big in the rotation. Which leads me to...
Bring back Brockman! He provides just about everything this team lacks and is one of the rare types that can consistently produce in limited minutes. I'd like to see him back more than I wanted Ike Diogu back last year if that says anything. Hmm...Ike Diogu? Sign him back too!!!
Don't sign David Lee!
I think we have an excellent chance of filling a position via the draft whether it be SG, SF, or C so it will probably dictate what we do in free agency. I wonder who Petrie will go after??? I would think he'd at least try for all the big names and/or possibly look for a team looking to clear out a legit player and their salary.

I don't really see anyway Nocioni get's moved (just like I didn't think it was possible to move Kenny)
No team is really gonna trade for him, unless we add in a good incentive or take on a contract that is just as bad if not worse.
Any team that needs wing help, can easily sign or trade for a player at half the cost of Nocioni.
Nocioni and Garcia won't get moved. Both have decent production but horrible contracts in today's market

Re: Offseason moves???
I for one would HATE to see Garcia moved. He's the heart of this team. I can't wait to see him at 100% next year. Wonder if he'll roid out like last summer, he was huge coming into this year.

I'd like to see us draft Cousins if we don't get top 2, I'd like to pick up Wall/Turner if we do just to see if we can make it work or for trade bait.... and sign Rudy Gay as well. Then trade some of our wing excess for a solid backup pg.

I feel he's expendable with Donte and Casspi on this team. And Especially so if we draft Wall/Turner/Johnson.
But regardless, if we want to or not, I don't think there is the option of moving him at all.
Can anyone list any realistic teams or potential deal's that could see Nocioni being moved? Because I'm not sure any exist

Re: Offseason moves???
Before this year I really didn't like Garcia. I always wanted to trade him. But after this year, watching him teach casspi and being a leader on this leader made me like him. He learned not to shoot as much too. He brings alot of energy to this team and I would like to see him back next year. At the same time I want the kings to get Evan turner and I didn't see Garcia playing much.

Over Cousins or Favors?

I think that, other than the draft and a few minor moves, this will be a relatively quiet off season for us. From what I've heard, I don't think think the Kings will make any major FA signings. If we don't get a chance to get Wall or Turner, then I could see us signing a veteran PG/SG to back up Evans/Beno. However, my dream lineup would be...
Evans
Beno
Greene
Landry
Cousins
with Thompson/Hawes/Garcia/Casspi off the bench?

Re: Offseason moves???
Cisco's presence goes beyond position. Others aren't going to be able to bring his intangibles.
I don't think moving Noc is such a lost cause. After teams get bumped out of the playoffs, they'll be wanting that extra key bench player.
I have been recently looking through scenarios if we draft Cousins. I still have my doubts about him for sure, but it's hard to not get excited about his potential. Given that Brock isn't going to be a big minute guy anyway, I think drafting him would certainly mean one of Spencer/JT/Landry going for either a 3rd guard to go with Tyreke and Beno, or top shelf future SF. Landry is tough to move because of his contract status, so it would seem more likely to be Spencer or JT.
I was looking at something like JT to the Hornets for Collison/Peterson. Basically we take on Peterson's dead weight in return for a talent upgrade. The Hornets get some much needed frontline depth. I was also looking at something like Hawes/Casspi for Collison and some other kind of value, but I think they'd probably definitely want JT.
The thing is, in this scenario, I think I'd probably look to move Spencer. JT would seem to be such a nice fit with Cousins, and so I'd look to start him and bring Landry and Brock off the bench. But JT is also definitely going to have more value around the league at this point.

xx_skaterdude_xx and I must be long lost brothers or something because that is exactly what I would do. 100% the exact same. No big crazy moves. Just be patient. Add a nice big piece in the draft and give the rest of the guys a chance to develop and show what they got before we make any crazy moves.
I would like to add JJ Redick also.
I would like the following team:
Beno/Garcia/Jerome Randle
Evans/Redick/Udoka
Greene/Casspi/
Landry/Thompson/Brockman
Cousins/Hawes/May

Re: Offseason moves???
Because it is so doubtful we could get LEBRON , D WADE , BOSH etc. we should only sign minumal 1 year or low 2 year contract type players thiss off season if that !
We still have alot of players on our roster so we wont have to many spots left considering 1 or 2 of those slots will be filled via draft .
If the KINGS decide to trade NOCIANI , GARCIA etc. then so be it as we have a huge quantity of small forwards right now !
Outside of landing an ELITE free agent wich i doubt the only potential major move we should consider if its through trade only !
To sign & have to grossly over pay a good player at best or a better than average player is idiotic we should reserve the money for better situations .
Lets all reflect on the OKLAHOMA THUNDER what did they do ? Drafted an elite player in DURANT & then continued through the draft with other very strong rookie talent . They did not spend big money to get a mediocre to better than average free agent why because management was smart . Now look at them they are an ELITE team with a huge promising future , they have a great core & their team salary is in great shape ! This is what the KINGS should follow in terms of this type of plan & what others here should recognize sometimes the best move a team can make equals no major move !
1 last factor to consider soon the NBA will have a hard cap & those teams such as the KINGS who have smaller markets this scenerio helps big time having the money then to sign prime time players would allow us to get great players & lift our team to an elite NBA championship type team for years to come .

Re: Offseason moves???
Agree with alot of you guys. I agree it'd be nice to make a trade and grab Pryzbilla if the blazers would part with him. If him, Camby and Oden are healthy, it's possible.
My ideal draft would be getting Favors. For some reason, he just seems like the guy for us.
I think moving Noce would be nice, merely to clear up room at the SF. Donte will be in his 3rd year & Casspi in 2nd year, they need to grow a little.
Lastly, we need a good backup PG, that can come in and give us a spark. Maybe we can grab one in the 2nd round.

Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
That just happened.

There are a few high potential PGs that will be available in the 2nd: Vasquez, Collins, Sheyer are at the top of my list.

I'd probably do that, but doubt the Pistons would. For what he could potentially bring to a team, CV is on a steal of a contract.
