Donatas Motiejunas has just recently officially declared that he will participate in the 2010 NBA draft. It is still not clear whether the Lithuanian will make the move over the Atlantic after this season, but the tall youngster from Kaunas is certainly drawing lots of attention from NBA scouts.
As it has been reported, Motiejunas, who is in his first season playing away from Lithuania, was paid a visit by Geoff Petrie, the President of Basketball Operations for the Sacramento Kings, who started his trip around Europe in Treviso. The American stopped in Italy to watch the talented Lithuanian in practice and also attended a game against Carife Ferrara, who are currently fifteenth in the Italian topflight. The defending NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers had an International scout at the game as well.
To the surprise of many Benetton lost the meeting 67-73 and are now in danger of missing the playoffs. Motiejunas had a good game scoring 12 points with 4-of-8 field goals reaching the target. The Lithuanian also added 7 rebounds and drew 5 fouls in a rather limited playing time of 23 minutes to bring his ranking total to 16, good enough for second in the team after American guard Bobby Dixon.
Motiejunas moved to Benetton Treviso after a very successful season in the Lithuanian League, where he was chosen as the MVP of the Year. The player’s statistics have dipped significantly following his move to a much stronger Italian League, where he is averaging 9,8 points and 4,7 rebounds per game.

I'm done with soft euros. I seriously doubt we draft him, as there are too many guys above him.

Wow Cousins played terrible... anyway, of course Donatas is the pick aroud (i believe) starting from 8. Around the same spot Yi was picked. I think he will be productive, given the patience and the right system and area, he'll be in good shape

Yi went 6.
I really feel that at BEST Gasol is this guy's limit. I think he'll end up a good pro somewhere between Spencer Hawes and Gasol.

He would be good for a team with a good inside game. So no for the Kings

The more I think about it, the more I want this guy for us. He looks real fluid and is a lefty! He would be real crafty around that basket. What makes him even more intreging is that he's 7''! He gives us alot of length and (yeahhhh I'll say it) -- what are the odds ANOTHER Euro player turns out to be a bust

Euro studs come once every 7 years?? I think he came right on schedule lol.
Who would we trade for him, Landry? JT? or Hawes? Me personally, I'd want to trade Landry for a pick ranging from 8-12 however, I sure in order to get the conversation started, we'd have to begin with the name JT. Therefore, JT for #12 DaMarre Carroll

Geoff went on a trip to Europe to scout some international talent. DM is the top Euro available this year. It doesn't mean we are going to take him.
