alright so everyone keeps talking about oh wall, turner, cousins, favors. to me, i just see the kings getting screwed down to the 6th pick, so say we get the 5th or 6th what would you guys rather do trade the pick or draft wes johnson or aldrich or what?

Whiteside or Aldrich--the one who isn't soft like Carlos Boozer.

Trade down to a team that covets Johnson. Pick up Whiteside plus incentive

how about a trade with twolves if we got the number 6 say...number 6 for there 16 and 23...would they do it? whiteside will still be around by 16 nab him there and then at 23 draft someone like drew bledsoe or willie warren for the back up point guard we need. would we prolly want more for the 6th pick?

Ehh...Whiteside is a huge risk. I'd be fine just taking whoever is available between Johnson and Aldrich.

Probably have to go Johnson first and Aldrich second. Those are actually the players I would like to see most as a King on draft night regardless of where the lottery balls fall.

like we got screwed and got Tyreke last year?... I wouldn't mind... if we fall to 5-6 Johnson is my pick

I have never seen Johnson play so I cannot be overly critical. Could he be a 2 in the NBA??

I wouldn't mind Wes Johnson at all if we fell to five or six. I'd probably be alright with Aldrich as well - there are a lot of players that could be in the mix in that range so I would be interested to see who Petrie ultimately targets.

no he couldn't be a 2 in the NBA. He is a sf. He looks just like a Shawn Marion type all around guy. Reminds of Gerald Wallace as well. But the thing to remeber with him is that he has a fantastic shooting range making him a nice addition.

He can certainly defend 2's however, offensively it depends on what you need. It's true he hasn't shown much in the area of playmaking but he's really much more of a pure wing and deep shooter than Wallace or Marion ever were. It's not just shooting range with him either, he's probably one of the most athletic players in this draft and has tremendous size and length for more of a traditional wing. He reminds me quite a bit of a cross between Shawn Marion and Rudy Gay. I love his willingness to match up against anyone he has to on defense as well. I've seen him guard some bigger PF's to smaller and quicker G's. He's got lock down potential and already has the range and pure stroke from beyond the arc. Even though he's a bit older I think he's got some considerable upside as well.

Dude Evans is our 2 and Johnson is a beast, he would compliment Evans perfectly. Johnson is pretty much what you would hope Donte would develop into.

Unless we plan on trading Casspi or Donte, I don't see us needing another SF. I say we draft the best post player available, whether that's Aldrich or Whiteside or whoever, or a guard that plays the position that we don't put Tyreke at, whichever that is.

+1!

Donte will never develop into a Johnson type however. Two different players entirely. Donte would really be better off transitioning to PF for a good chunk of his minutes, just like I thought when he came out of college. Johnson, although playing PF in college just like Donte, is without question a true wing.

While both are very good prospects, there is a legit reason why they went in the 20's, and a player like Wesley Johnson is commonly placed in the top 5 of most 2010 mocks.

Although, I do not think we don't have legitimate stabilization in the SF position but your argument of positional draft rankings defining a player is absolutely wrong.

You are telling to me that players that was chosen in later portions of the draft can't re-define their own personal worth? There were countless of players that were chosen 20 and beyond that are legitimate starters in this L.

I don't care if you are chosen #1 or #30, if you can make a case whether or not you can play in this league at a high level, I could care less of positional draft rankings.

If we were to draft Johnson, Casspi would be our main backup SG. Some of you are hilarious on here!

Johnson/Donte/Noc
Beno/Casspi/Donte
Evans/Beno

I certainly think that drafting Johnson would mean that that log jam would be reaching a tipping point, and we'd have to do something about it.

i seriously cant stand it when ppl post lineups and they have beno as the 2 and evans at the 1 it boggles my mind why ppl care if evans is defined as a **** pg. Yes he can play the pg and play it well because of his great handles and court vision but so can many other players. Hes a playmaker that has the ability to run the point but isnt necessarily a pg like lebron, roy, hill(in his prime), carter, ginobli, wade etc. Sorry about the rant but i cant stand ppl labeling him as our pg for the future in their lineups.
