Why : wiz have arenas. No one in the league would be ready to take his huge contract. So getting rid of arenas is almost impossible for wiz. Instead of adding another PG, they upgrade by drafting favors (pf) and wesley (sg)

With everything going on with arenas and the dissaponting year that they had i cant see them giving up a guy like wall who can turn the franchise around in. I think wall can be that good. Like you said though they will probably not get rid of arenas' contract any time soon. But hell yes i would do that is I was sacramento.

This is an obvious no-brainer for the Kings, but I don't think either NJN or WAS would ultimately agree to it.

Lopez is NOT worth 2 picks and Hawes. I have no illusion that Hawes' value is more than mediocre, but he is still serviceable when used correctly. And that 5th pick could still conceivably land Cousins, who I think most agree have a lot of long term upside. So IMO this is certainly no "no-brainer" for the Kings...I think it is just a NO.

Actually I think the 3 and 5 in this draft is better than the 1 by itself. I think trading Hawes + the 5 for Lopez is a bit steep and I think giving up the 3 and the 5 is steep, too!

I just think at 5 we will be able to get a really good player. I don't think there's a need to panic and make moves like this.

Interesting. I think Lopez is certainly worth the fifth pick in this draft, but maybe I'm underrating Hawes' value a bit as a throw in. I'd pretty much do this and not turn back, but its kind of a ridiculous, unrealistic trade all around.

Categorizing Hawes as a "throw in", is all the proof I need to know that you're clearly underrating him.

As far as the trade, as much as I'd love to have Brook Lopez in a Sacramento uniform, I don't see NJ taking anything reasonable as an acceptable offer..

Sorry don't mean to flame but no way in hell nets do this trade. We Lucked into Lopez cos of other gm's lack of niagra falls. Lopez has proven he should of been top 5. While I do admit Brooke has his faults, quality bigmen like him are rare as hens teeth!

Not trying to low ball or be a homer. But washington can have the 3rd pick Harris and Yi for the 1st and filler. Sorry to leave out SAC but if you can find a three way deal that includes what I've said i'd be glad to hear it.

I think this deal works for the Kings. Lopez is a young, proven top 5 center worthy of a top 3 pick in this draft. The success rate with 2nd rounders is very low, so you can't worry about that. Hawes is servicable but obsolete if the Kings had Lopez.

The Nets don't do it, because they wind up with 2 PGs, an ok SG & an ok center on the final year of his deal, and little else on their roster. The whole allure of Wall was to team him with Lopez.

From a basketball perspective I would do it if I were the Wizards. You're talking a likely core of Arenas, Wes Johnson, & Favors/Cousins. Talent & fit wise, that's better than Arenas+Wall. However, from a PR perspective, they need Wall to be the new alpha-dog & face of the franchise. That's why there is no way they trade #1.
