Why? Just because we have a ton of small forwards, doesnt mean they are that great to pass up on johnson. I say draft bpa at 5 and if its johnson so be it, the kids a baller anyways. Then start making trades to fill holes, when your team has as little talent as ours does you take bpa, not a cole alrdich or whoever cause he fills a hole.

Re: Epke Udoh
I see Ford has him going 8th and I'm really just plain shocked that I've heard his name linked with us at 5. He's a solid player and actually has a pretty good feel for the game but taking him at 5 is just ridiculous. Sure he's a shotblocker but I bet he measures out smaller than most think and he just isn't a C or a super talented PF.

Re: Epke Udoh
Has anyone thought about a James Anderson?
I hear good things about him and I know he is a 2, but he is a shooter and could be a good player.
I know we need a big, but if there are none that interest GP then what do you guys think
Evans
Anderson
Greene
Landry
Hawes

EXACTLY!!!!
I really like Aminu tho but Johnson is probably the better player right now, even tho he is 4 years older than Aminu

Re: Epke Udoh
Not 4. A little over 3 years.
And I'd take Johnson over Aminu in a heartbeat IMHO.
As to the original point of this topic... if we're gonna take Udoh, take Aldrich. Aldrich fixes our problems and is a far superior prospect.

if we traded down Udoh would be a good pick up 8-15

I think we already have enough of this as it is.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

No thanks at #5. Everyone talks about Udoh's shotblocking, but there is this guy named Aldrich who is a better overall defender and rebounder. If Landry is in the front court long term, we can't afford adding another big man who just isn't a very good rebounder, like Ekpe.

Re: Epke Udoh
I'm actually a really big fan of his. He's going to struggle with post defense, particularly early on, but I think he can otherwise be a strong anchor defensively, while also being a major offensive threat. I definitely wouldn't be upset if we took him, although there are others I'd prefer. He's currently #7 on my board, but nipping at Johnson's heels.

If this is true, then i want nothing to do with him.
EDIT: I see KingInExile already pointed that out.

I must say however, he sure didn't let my boy Omar Samhan push him around in the Baylor/Gaels game.
I'm gonna go cry now.

Re: Epke Udoh
Not a fan personally. I like Greg Monroe much better if we decide to go big and Cousins/Favors are off the board.
My PF/C Big board looks like:
1) Cousins
2) Favors
3) Monroe
4) Orton
5) Aldrich
6) Whiteside
I think Udoh bombs out in the NBA. I don't think he projects well honestly, Monroe is being seriously underrated. While he might not ever be an all-star, he'll be a great starting piece to your front court for years to come.

I'm quite sure he's lurking somewhere, cooking up some crazy offseason trade ideas.
Damn i miss that.
