Ugh, over 100? Damn...I wonder how fast he was going. Funny, because I was driving on 80 near antelope during that time, too. Must have just missed him.

Oh and..

The air unit followed the Mercedes until officers could respond at 6:58 p.m. to a park near Taylor Street Elementary School in the Robla neighborhood, where Evans planned to play basketball.

:o I wonder if he goes there to play basketball often?

Ughh...this kinda sucks.

I mean it's not uncommon. The article sited J-Will and Chris, but Rose has also been caught doing basically the exact same thing.

I just would really not prefer another Bobby Hurley situation.

If we look at it in retrospect several years from now and can say this is the worst thing that Evans have done in Sacramento, I gladly take it.

...

Sure, it is irresponsible and we hope that he will not do this again but I don't think this it is a major issue compare to the other offenses that most pro-athletes commit.

I am just glad he was caught(think twice maybe?), we don't need a Jay Williams thing happening. On a positive note, at least he is playing basketball over his summer unlike Peja.

Not a big deal - is it careless? Yes, but that's it.

LeBron did it too, so it's okay! :P :

LeBron ticketed for speeding
Cavs star accused of going 101 in 65 mph zone

MEDINA, Ohio (AP) -- Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James was ticketed by the State Highway Patrol for allegedly driving 101 mph on an interstate highway.

James, who drives a 2008 Mercedes, was cited in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 71 near Medina at 2:43 a.m. on Dec. 30 -- his 23rd birthday.

Cleveland attorney Colin Jennings filed a not guilty plea for James on Tuesday in Medina Municipal Court. A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 11, the same day the Cavaliers are scheduled to play in Orlando against the Magic.

Other details about the traffic stop were not available.

An e-mail was sent to James' publicist seeking comment Sunday night. James' agent, Keith Estabrook, could not be reached.

Medina is about 30 miles south of Cleveland.

I forgot about that until I saw this today, as has like everyone, and this'll be forgotten by many the same way.

Geez, Tyreke was flirting with death and put other driver's lives at risk. I hope he learns from this mistake and makes better life decisions. He's only twenty, so the immaturity should be some-what expected.

Reckless driving in California is a misdemeanor (23103(a) CA Veh Code). So Tyreke was arrested, but issued a citation and released with a court date.

I love how this story makes the front page on ESPN.com.

My friend got cited for going 100 mph in a 60 zone a couple years ago. He learned from it and it wasn't a big deal. This is seriously a non-issue.

Lol, its bad,but we all did it before (unless u dun drive in real life), 100mph is fast, but its not that fast considering Evans is driving some BMW or Porsche.

100mph is not a big deal. People really like to freak out over petty stuff.

he was on his way to play some B-ball. All I really care about is that he is working on his outside shot.

As long as the story isn't....."Tyreke Evans cited going 100mph on his way to a dog fight from a club where he shot himself in the leg with a gun he usually keeps in his locker"......then I am fine with it.

As long as its not a DUI, there won't be much of a stigma.

People on the radio crack me up XD Anyone heard the last hour or so of Grant vs. people who make Grant seem intellegent? I mean, seriously. These morons... one guy said this was "the first of a long series of issues"... but yeah, come on Tyreke, slow it down.

It's not that big of a deal. I was in a station wagon going 120mph not long ago. My friend thought it would be funny and it scared the crap out of me. Atleast he was likely driving a car built for those
speeds. Lol.

Lol that's what I was thinking when I read that. Keeping it real is good and all but seriously Evans needs to find a better place to shoot hoops.

And when did 100mph become a big deal. I do that nearly everyday driving down hwy 99. If he were in Germany people would be flipping him off as they sped by him for holding up traffic lol. As long as he wasn't drinking who gives a rip.

Well at least it gives up something to talk about other than is cousins too fat and lazy or can johnson play the 2.

I don't think this is a big deal, except that he was going 130 mph on a busy freeway (he was near Antelope) around 6-7 PM. I'm actually curious how he was going that fast, since it's usually pretty busy with traffic (not stand still) around that time of day. If he did this at 2 AM, I don't most people would care as much.
