Hey Everyone!

Just joined after following this and another Kings site for the past two years. I'm from Scotland and started following the Kings for the last 3 years. Anyway let me know what you think of this and if it's a possibility!

In my view what the Kings are lacking is a starting SG (primarily a spot up shooter and 3-point shooter who doesn't need the ball in his hands to be productive) and a starting CEN (to give us an inside presence and who has v.g shotblocking and rebounding qualities).

Of what i've heard TURNER and COUSINS are those guys and although it may seem a stretch to get the 2nd and 4th picks (projected draft if Washington takes WALL and New Jersey take FAVOURS at the 3rd pick) I started adding things up and I think it may just be possible. So here it goes!

Sac In: 2nd pick and Brand Phil In: Landry, Casspi, Nocioni, 33rd pick, 2011 1st round pick (lot pro)

Mil In: Nocioni, 33rd pick Phil In: Gadzuric ....then

Sac In: 4thpick Min In: 5th pick, Hawes

That would leave us with a lineup of:
PG - Evans 3.9m 36 mins
SG - Turner 4.0m 36 mins
SF - Greene 1.0m 30 mins
PF - Thompson 2,2m 32 mins
CE - Cousins 3.8m 32 mins
SUB - Udrih 6.7m 18 mins
SUB - Garcia 5.5m 18 mins
SUB - F.Agent S.F 1.5m 6 mins
SUB - Brand 16.0m 24 mins
SUB - F.Agent CE 1.5m 8 mins
SQU - F.Agent PG 1.0m
SQU - McGuire 1.2m
SQU - Brockman 1.3m 48.3m

I think that team would be an absolute nightmare to defend and would have the length to compete with the Lakers in 3 years and the ability to be in the playoffs with 2 years. Plus the salary structure is sound as comes in at roughly 48.3m and then Brand, Garcia and Udrih's contracts come off the books at the same time that Evans, Turner and Cousins get paid. We don't have to extend Landry and Hawes contracts and we have a bit of room to stay under the projected cap even when Thompson and Greene's contracts get improved. I also think that the deals to make this happen are very realistic as well for all teams involved.

Phil: Are supposedly interested in shopping the 2nd if someone takes Brands contract and they get Casspi and Landry two young players with great potential and loads a cap space for next year when Dalembert, Gadzuric and Kapono would come off the books at a total of 25.6m plus an extra 1st round pick.

Min: They need mega help at the wings i.e SG and SF and would probably want to draft Johnson but will want to milk the 4th to try and get something out of SAC. So they get Jonhnson at SF, Hawes to pair with at the centre position with Milicic who they will re-sign and then can use either or combination of 16th pick, cap space, Jefferson and rights to Rubio to get their starting SG.

Mil: Get Nocioni one more year than Gadzuric but I think he could fit there and will give them alot more production than Gadruric plus the 33rd pick to sweeten the deal. They add to this the return of Redd and 17th pick a think it is and they will be very solid.

Which I guess you did, but spacing it out a little more would make it easier to read. Good job putting a why for each team though.

Third, alot of what you've posted here has been discussed by others over the past view weeks.
There was some talk about 5+something for #4, some are in favor or it, I personally think if Sacramento is going to try to trade up, trying to get up to #3 would make a lot more sense to take Favors rather than Cousins, and probably wouldn't cost anything significantly different, but I don't see Sacramento wanting to pay whatever that extra beyond #5 would be to move up just that one or two spaces, some disagree with me though.

Philadelphia fans on this board will tell you that unless there completely blown away by an offer, #2 isn't going anywhere, and that's even with Brand being included. Personally, I think they're overstating things drastically. I don't know that anyone's come to them specifically with a unprotected pick for next year, however it's likely they'd pass. I don't like the idea of having to bring Brand and his bloated contract in anyway. Sacramento spent the past view seasons getting their cap situation good, don't see blowing all of it on Brand.

Also, you've got #33 going to both Philly & Milwaukee, so something has to give there.

Although I would welcome that trade with Brand's horrendous contract, I don't think the departure of Casspi would happen, he is basically a marketing campaign that gave the kings national attention around the world, King's are all about expanding the franchise around the world, and Casspi is that piece to the puzzle, but again winning again would also be nice and would indeed gain national attention as well, but the team is too inexperienced and will take at least a couple years to develop, unless we throw in a few vets that can fill the holes. I don't know the way I see it, people said two years ago that the kings will be back in contention, its like de ja vu, people are saying this year it will take at least two years, what's gonna happen in two years, people might be saying the same thing again. Who knows, I guess, I should stick with "In Petrie We Trust."

Couple things. Turner is not really a spot shooter or a 3 pt shooter. He is like Tyreke, needs the ball in his hands, and is most effective creating his own shot. I still like him and him and Tyreke together would be pretty awesome.

For Sac, I think it is good because you have 3 absolute studs to build around. Evans, Turner, and Cousins would probably be the nastiest big 3 in the NBA in 3-4 years. With Greene in the position to be a stud and Thompson ability to be possibley one of the most steady productive big me in the NBA (double-double guy) the team would be sick!. Brands contract is nasty but to get this lineup for the future I would eat that contract all day long. Not to mention in the meantime, Brand is not as bad as people say. Off the bench he is still a 12-6 kind of player.

For Philly, it all depends if they dont think Turner is as good as most say. I think they could possibly do it because both Landry and Casspi are worth way more then there contracts and combined are better then Brand. With major open cap space for 2011 and with 2 first round picks (most likely both top 8, they could bring in a big time Free Agent. It would set them up so good for next summer. It all depends on how high they are on Turner. They could have Iggy, Holiday, Landry, Casspi, plus 2 good picks, and a big name FA (Carmello?). Wow

Minnesota, I don't know about these guys. I guess from there point of view, they only move 1 spot down in the draft and they get Hawes in return for that. You just never know with them. They could draft Johnson who in my opinion is better "for them" then Cousins or Favors, plus they get Hawes at the end of his deal and could really evaluate his worth moving forward. To me it all depends on if they keep Darko. Both Jefferson and Love can play the C in spot minutes but do better as a PF. A center like Hawes would match up pretty well with Jefferson on offense since Jefferson plays more in the post. Their defense would be pretty bad though.


As a Kings fan I say yes. I would like to be aggressive in this draft. I have been trying to figure out ways to land another top 5 pick without giving up Tyreke or the #5. I would eat Brands contract no problem to get Turner or maybe even Favors. I would love to draft Turner or Johnson as well as Cousins or Favors. Either combination would work for me because after Wall I think those 4 guys are pretty equal and after that the drop off is huge.

Unless Philly thinks they can become a contender in free agency this deal doesn't make any sense for them. Even still this doesn't make sense. You have a couple of guys projected to be all-stars annually that will be available where they are drafting. Trading that pick doesn't bring a guarantee they will get that guy directly through us. In addition the rookie scale allows them to get that talent without paying 8 figures annually. They took a chance with Brand, and you see how that's working out.

If we get #2 from Philly it will cost us the #5 pick. I really think we would consider #5 +Landy or Thompson for the #2 pick fair value. I don't see the advantage of the Sixers trading out of that spot. Their front line is GARBAGE. They have Speights and Holiday as young talent. They have iggy. They need to draft the BPA. I don't think they can afford to move down above all.

As for the trade Ideas.. I agree with Jsrose115, NO to Trading Casspi!! He gives us National Attention, which is good for are Marketability.

i say no to trading casspi not because of the attenton.. but because hes a good player. better off trading greene in his spot
