I would trade spencer for Okafor and Collison.. how does that not make our team better? especially if Cousins drops to 5!

I don't know.. I think It would take a little more then Spencer Hawes to make that deal.
But if we could get those two for Hawes.. That would be cool.

The base of any deal including Okafor would be

Nocioni/Garcia

With Okafor's bloated contract, it's the only think that makes sense for Sacramento in my mind.

good trade for us, dont know how excited the hornets would be.. especially if they watch noc-i-o-NO's highlight tape

Okafor's going to be the next big cap anchor in the league (a la Elton Brand), I like Collison, but I'd much rather do something like

If we have to take on Okafor, that return value drops drastically

if the hornets are looking to cut salaries they wont achieve that taking on garcia/noc. Collison is on the block to get them some cap releif, trading greene who's contract is 800K 2 yrs to collison 1.2mil 2 yrs wont get it done either. he is on the block for a team to bite and take on salary..


check out the kids stats he put up last year !! he is a gamer and is going to be a great PG in the league. with our wing heavy roster i would trade casspi for collison if he were on the block without having to package him

Think about that Hawes for Collison and Okafor trade..

Do you think the Hornets would even trade one of those guys straight up for Hawes? I dont think so. I think that third trade with the picks would make a little more sense for them. My mouth waters when I think about Collison and Evans playing on the same court.

If we want Collison this is the deal that I propose.

This save the Hornets a little money and gets them under the tax yet again. the kings in this scenario get to finish their rebuild.

The draft Whiteside or Udoh at 11. Our wings are still cluttered but we can take care of that through some small consolidation trades.

Landry/Thompson/Brockman
Whiteside/Hawes

Thats a pretty darn good team right there. I think we look to move Hawes Garcia and nocioni in trades to consolidate the team but if all those guys are willing to take much smaller roles then I have no problem keeping them.

His contract is bloated but he provides what the Kings lack, a huge rebounding presence and solid defense in the post. He was pretty much screwed last year playing the least amount of minutes in his career and still posted solid numbers. With Evans penetrating and shot selection, having a solid rebounding team is essential. Oak brings that. May not have that overwhelming size but if we can add Oak and Collison for an exception just to give the Hornets some breathing room, we do it.

I honestly want no part of Okafor.

Let's bring back Peja. Nocioni for Peja and Collison.

He likely won't see much playing time, but he's a very large expiring contract, and who knows, maybe he'd boost ticket sales a little bit.

If Sacramento were to do that, how much cap space would the Kings have left approximately?

10 million give or take..

It depends on what we want to try to do in FA this offseason. If we really want to try to do something, I think we need to add a more valuable piece.

This would be a terrible trade for the KINGS

1st off as an overall player J.THOMPSON is better than COLLISION so why trade down ! Makes no sense at all !
Also you & others who would consider your deal need to realize that solid big men in the NBA are far more valuable than the point guards if for no other reason because a solid floor general (point guard ) is easier to replace than a big man ! We are already stretched really thin as a whole with our power forwards & centers . We need an upgrade not a downgrade !

I want to be clear I believe Collision is really good & would be a big addition to the team but not at the cost of the trade you proposed !

By the way we have 4 small forwards if we were going to do a trade 1 of them would be dealt in a deal reguardless if they were traded wih 1 of our bigs likely NOC but if not GARCIA !

No, he's not. Collison showed more in his rookie year than Jason has in his two years.

And I'd argue that the only thing more valuable than a good PG is a certain type of big--that is, a legitimate center that can be a real post presence on either end. Jason is not this. Jason is a very nice, solid big that can fit in on a lot of teams, but that's basically the extent of his value.

And just to reiterate, the idea here would be that we'd be drafting Whiteside to essentially take Jason's minutes. If we draft a big, we won't have enough minutes for the bigs we do have.

^^value wise I see no reason to give up Thompson. The 5th pick is roughly worth the 11th qnd collison by itself my addition of mopete to the deal was a slight incentive to make the deal more attractive. I really don't think we need to go so far as adding in Thompson.

And your assesment f Thompson seems to be a bit too low. He's more than a solid big the guy is actually pretty darn good and very productive when he's on the court. He's a top 20 man defender and one of the best passing bigmen in the league, he's a fantastic offensive rebounder and has developed a very nice mid range game. If he ever slows his foul accumulation he will be a border line all star guy.
