I don't understand why Sacramento would target a SF.

Casspi and/or Greene, though lacking polish and consistency, both have the potential to be the SF of the future (I think Casspi's more likely, but either could be the guy)

Not to mention Garcia or Nocioni

SF would seem to be the last position that Sacramento would seem likely to target.

I think this 100% comes down to how much they love cousins or Monroe. If they love Monroe more than Cousins, we make this deal. We shed 2011 salary, and still pick up the guy we want. I also read something about the kings liking Babbit and Hayward, and now have work outs scheduled for them the day before the draft. Why are we working them out?!?!?!

Those two, day before the draft, scare the crap out of me. Not Babbit so much, but hayward?!?!

I do think it could be a Hedo deal though...because I am now on the Cousins train. Kings are crazy not to get this guy. But Monroe is a petrie guy...he is very Brad Miller like.

I understand the idea of trading down in order to get something additional, especially if they can still get the guy they want, but the part that doesn't mesh is the target in Prince, other than cutting Nocioni out which with Sacramento already $20 million under, why take someone at a position you don't need?

Maybe the front office isnt particularly high on Casspi or Green. Chad Ford, Adrian W both are saying that Kings want some veterans and Prince is a great vet to have + he isnt signed longterm.

Sacramento can get out of Noce a year early by getting the better guy in Prince and still end up with Monroe at 7

A big trend last year was PW playing Donte Greene at the 2 a lot. While he did a commendable job I do not want to see him play the 2 long term.

Prince would be a good veteren influence, but he is still good enough to want/need to play big minutes which is not good for us. We need a last leg veteren who does not want/need to play big minutes any more.

I would be sad if we get monroe..I dont care what pick it is

All I've heard is -

Apparently, the pundants think Sacto wants Vetrains.

Prince, is apparently available and a vetrain.

Thus, we want Prince.

Chad Ford is a genius.

It all boils down to who GP likes in the draft. Maybe he secretly likes Whiteside and knows he can get him at 7. So he blows Cousins stock way up to get Detroit all goo goo even though the red flags are super red and he wants nothing to do with him. So we trade Noc and the 5 (Cousins) for Prince and the 7 (Whiteside).

Now we have Prince who is a major upgrade at SF in his current form. He is a championship caliper player who at the deadline would be a HUGE trade piece to a contending team.

This is really the only way I see this being remotely a possibility. We still get the guy we want, we rid ourselves of the drunken brickster Noc, and we get a huge trade piece to be used by the deadline.

Chad Ford just stole his intel from Woj...the Detroit papers are now trying to regurgitate the same rumor.

Don't Believe the Hype...like Chuck D said.

Apparently despite the fact that in the last three drafts GP has only picked up big men and guys who are oversized for their position, we still automatically want ANY SF that comes available.

Oh, yeah, and we have a GLUT of them on the roster!

This sounds like something that was cooked up by the Pistons fans a while back to try to move up the draft.

If Cousins is gone at 5, I would consider trading down to the pistons so we can exchange Noc for Prince and maybe get some sweetener.

We're not doing it if Cousins is there, so I guess that's that.

I don't think the Kings consider trading down if Cousins is there

I don't think we want Prince, Maybe if it was a straight swap for Nocioni. but other wise I have no desire to have that guy on the team he's roughly an average player getting payed 10mil, and he'll take time from the young guys and Casspi seems to be nearly as good as prince already, he just needs more experince.

Yeah, I couldn't agree any more with you.. I'd really like us to draft cousins at 5!!
I have a feeling If we trade for prince we'd have to give up our 5th pick.. and that would be a major let down!! IMO .. but maybe getting Prince plus another big-man (Monroe, Adrich, Whiteside) doesn't seem so bad?

I don't know I have mixed feelings about this one. A veteran like prince would be a nice addition - but I think its the wrong position for us, I would rather us pick up a beastly veteran big man. The only way I see a trade like this happening is if GP is sold on Monroe and wants to trade down for that player while getting more value out of the 5th pick.

I love this time of the off-season, trade rumors and draft predictions. I just can not wait to see our final product, will we pick up a use able veteran? ... trade down? pick up a few more draft picks (early/mid 2nd round)? Sign a beastly free-agent.... The possibilities are limitless but in the end I have faith in our front office to make the right choice for us.

I really doubt the KINGS do the trade to get PRINCE though i must say he is a great defender with long arms & is a good shooter also & would be a serious upgrade iver all our small forwards
The onle scenerio I can possibly see the KINGS doing it is if DETROIT gets both NOC & GARCIA with the 5th pick while we get the 7th pick & PRINCE possibly even a future pick as well !

The logic for SACRAMENTO would be dumping 2 longer term veteran contracts in Noc's case would be simply because he doesnt want to be here & the KINGS dont see him in their future plans at all .
GARCIA is becoming a bit injury prone the past 2 seasons though he is a great influence he has 4 more years & I think we overpaid him a bit .

Sure PRINCE makes 11,148,000 next season but he is in his last season if he works for the KINGS great if not we rid 2 sf & gain 1 back in PRINCE but PRINCE becomes a big assett why you ask ?

1. Bottom line if he works out then great we pay him providing he is affordable
2. Say he doesnt work out we rid ourselves of 4 years in GARCIA & 2 YEARS out of NOC'S contract at the same time $11,148,000 comes off the books to apply towards free agency the following year & if we did not spend a ton on free agency this year we would have a boat load to offer the following season & we would then be huge players to land major stars !
3. Again if PRINCE doesnt work out he could still be an attractive trade assett at the trade deadline as he will be a huge expiring .

Guys again I dont think we do the trade however i cant say as i would be shocked if we did it especially if you take the trade i mentioned above & DETROIT added a future 1st round pick I think I would have to do it but once again I dont think it will happen .

The insight I gave to the 1-3 scenerios are why i could see PETRIE doing a trade with DETROIT !
