The draft is quickly approaching us and I've been thinking that since a lot of us have the notion that it will be hard to get one of the top free agents to sign with us that maybe we should use some of our cap space to buy a mid to late first round pick. You have teams like New Orleans who are cash strapped, Miami who wants to dump beasely and maybe their pick to free up space for two max free agents and a few other teams out there posturing for free agents. Would you guys like to see the Kings try to add to the young nucleus and buy up one or two first round picks this year or look for a splash in free agency?

The best realistic move would be to take on salary in order to acquire either draft picks or young players that have a good chance of being part of the core of the team (Collison from NO comes to mind).

So long as none of the salary that Sacramento takes on is too ridiculous, and the pick/piece is worth the deal, I think Sacramento could easily make a deal or two like that and get some real important pieces for the long term.

I think if we can get Collison, I think he's worth targeting. I Collison/Evans backcourt could be among the best in the league for the better part of a decade.

I don't see us winning that many, but I do see that team drastically improving over this year. I think IF we could obtain that lineup next season, we'll still be a late lotto team, buutt...with a very very bright future.

Adding Cousins and Collison (plus another year of experience for Evans) would give us at least 10 more wins. I can't see how 35-45 wins wouldn't be completely out of the question. But either way, I doubt we'll ever see that lineup.

It's not always that linear. Yeah, we'll improve in most areas, but we will also take a step back in others. It's not always linear growth every single time you make a move.

Annd..there's a huge difference between a 35 win team, a 40 win team, and a 45 win team lol.

35 win with that lineup - absolutely
40 win team - eh, that would be reaching
45 win team - highly, highly, highly, unlikely.
