Udrih and #5 for Mo Williams

Post#1 » by thaddeusyoungin » Sun Jun 20, 2010 11:50 pm

So there's this new guy on the Sixers board who claims he's a member of the Cavs press. He seems pretty knowledgeable but he's saying that there's a 3 team trade in discussion that looks like this:

Kings out- #5, Udrih
Kings in- Williams

Cavs out- Williams, West, Moon, Telfair, Green
Cavs in- Udrih, Iguodala

Sixers out- Iguodala
Sixers in- #5, West, Moon, Telfair, Green

Obviously this is good for the Sixers and Cavs but terrible for the Kings. How pissed would you guys be if this went down?

I can see the kings trading the pick if they can get equal or greater value and i actually think that mo williams would play well with tyreke. That said he is not worth trading for a #5 plus a pg who we know for a fact plays well with tyreke. I would be surprised if petrie makes this deal.

It's trash. kings decline very ealisly in fact the deal makes no sense because udrih is nearly as productive as wiliams.

I could see if it was deron williams but it's not.

Well gee... I wouldn't think this was an accurate rumor, but someone on the 76ers board says it so it must be true.

Seriously though, if I ran things around here I would make claiming you're an insider a banable offense.
Nothing drives me more crazy on this site than someone claiming they have inside information, just to have a bunch of gullible folks latch on to them, and believe that what they say is spun gold.

Oh come on now, this trade is just way to far fetched... and even if it sounded plausible why would someone from the cavs press chose to leak insider info like that on real gm? just doesn't sound right to me...

I agree with you that this deal won't happen but if you ask any Sixer fan on that board they will tell you there are two definite insiders on that board. One is Tom Moore who is a Sixers beat writter (check out his thread) and the other guy is the reason Tom came to the board in the first place. His name is Sixerfan1976 (check out his thread) and has been proving without a dought over the last few years that he has inside info.(started with breaking the Iverson trade.....where and for who 2 weeks before anyone had it). Today a guy came to our board claiming he was a member of the Clevland press. At first no one believed him but he somehow proved it to the Mods so they didn't lock his post.

The "Cleveland insider" is a guy with a podcast and radio show in Cleveland. He is legit in that he has connections- cause we were able to confirm it (independent from any claims made buy the poster.)

But that does not mean his rumor is legit.

We have gotten some confirmation that the OP is a member of the media who covers the Cavs so this is NOT just a case of some random person creating an account and saying, "I've got a source".

That said, it's up to you to choose...

A) How real is this rumor considering SF76 has said there's nothing it?

and

B) Would the Sixers do this?
Ed Stefanski: "We're listening to anybody who calls, but we have not shopped the No. 2 pick whatsoever. We don't shut our phones off, but it would take a blockbuster for us to consider moving the pick."

I feel bad for you Kings fan that is just a horrible deal. We should add in Speights and Cleveland should add in a first rounder to make it fair.

thaddeusyoungin, at this point its more a hrrible rumor than a horrible deal. If a deal resembling this ever does go down, I assume it will be less one sided. Sources often give info on what their team offered, not on what they are getting.

This is so damn ugly for the kings.... i dont really buy into rumors cause if i did then we would have had hedo or prince right now instead of dalembert, it's those unexpected but reasonable deals that usaully happens...

The Wizards did get Mike Miller and Randy Foye along with getting rid of Etan Thomas' and Darius Songaila's contract off the books for the 5th pick last year, so I wouldn't say it's that far fetched.

I might be wrong, but I was under the impression that Cleveland does not have any first round draft picks this season (unless you're meaning for next season... which I could understand)... Anyways I do agree with you that the trade is very lopsided, I just don't see it working out unless they find away to accommodate the kings with another player/pick.

relax guys this trade is hog wash! as I shot this down on the 6ers board. This "source" who posted this is a guy named "vandy". This is the internet, I can create any account in a name I want. If I create my name as "Will Smith" does that actually mean I'm him??

Anyway can we lock this ridiculous thread now?
