Good to hear!!

Gotta hope Minnesota does not screw us over by trading their pick or by taking Cousins.

Key is him being there though. I'm incredibly skeptical about that part of the equation.

kings sources leaking info??

funny if this is like a cover up to get a different player. maybe so minni will take him to deal with us.

I think Cousins ends up in Detroit somehow someway.

I also think that

yeah that would suck...but Monroe is a good consolation prize.

But...

Say the Pistons trade with Minny and take Cousins 4.

What I hear is Wes Johnson is going 3rd.

That leaves us deciding between Favors and Monroe.

Not a bad spot to be in IMHO.

Rather than throw out some useless conjecture, let's begin to analyze this with some rational thought.

Exactly how or in what way does Cousins get to Detroit. I think it's possible, but very unlikely. So unlikely that I believe they'd require a 'perfect storm' for it to happen.

Do instance if the draft goes:

1) Wall
2) Turner/Johnson
3) Johnson/Turner

With Minny on the clock, I could see them look towards a Jefferson/4 for Prince/Stuckey/7 or Gordon/Jerebko and/or Daye/7 type of deal with perhaps some type of fillers to make it work.

I think the draft going in that order and the Wolves biting on that type of deal is far from likely, honestly.

I felt a lot of the reason you were comfortable trading Hawes was because his shaky relationship with Westphal, and Cousins has a much worse attitude than Hawes so I don't understand this. Monroe fits the description of bigs that Sac loves, we'll have to see what happens, I guess.

Smokescreen. I actually think that Favors is going to fall to us.

1. Wall
2. Turner
3. Johnson (don't be surprised if Cousins is picked here. I have a feeling that they're going to throw a curveball)
4. Cousins (could be Detroit, Memphis)
5. We take Monroe or Favors

It wasn't ALL about Hawes' attitude. A good part of trading him was getting rid of the soft, no defense players left on the team. Hawes' attitude really only manifested itself when he didn't get playing time he thought he was entitled to. If Hawes had actually worked to get better and stopped playing like a little pansy he would have received playing time. If there are 2 things that can be said about Cousins they are these:
1) He's immensely talented
2) He'll bust his ass on the court. Whether or not his off-court work ethic is there is another question. But on the court he's going to give you effort

Correction, he fit what they USED to love. The team, as constructed, isn't built around great passing big men.

Minny said they would not trade their pick tho. If the Nets take Wes i dont think minny would trade away.

It was known we were drafting Evans at this time last year as well so I don't think "it being known" is a shock. As long as Johnson goes 3 or 4 I'm happy because to me the talent seems to be with Cousins/Favors/Wall/Turner. I'm even starting to lean towards Cousins > Favors. I'm not big on Wesley Johnson.

The Kings work in such a way though that you can't fully rely on these reports.

This does seem a little fishy, although I'd like to believe its true. When have they kings ever announced they are going to do anything? Seems like teams are doing alot of posturing and playing mind-games.

We'll see tho, should be a very interesting 24 hours.

i remember last year draft, golden state warriors screw the knicks by drafting stephon curry (1 pick away) . curry never attend a single workout in golden state. I'm scared on minnesota's #4 pick. will it happen again?

Minnesota is actively shopping Jefferson which leads me to believe they are drafting Cousins.

"I'm the best player in the draft. ... It's that simple. ... I believe I'm the most dominant. I believe, out of this draft, I'm the biggest game changer. Just the best talent."

DeMarcus Cousins, as quoted by Rob Peterson of FanHouse

-----------------

The Kings have ultimately decided [DeMarcus] Cousins is just too talented to pass and believe they can provide the support system he’ll need in the NBA. Cousins is 6-foot-11, 285 pounds, and has a refined offensive game. Kings general manager Geoff Petrie and coach Paul Westphal are banking the organization can help Cousins improve his conditioning and maturity. ... The Kings, who just traded for Philadelphia 76ers center Samuel Dalembert, are counting on a frontline of Cousins and Jason Thompson to carry them through the next era.
