Hey guys....

I am sure this time of year many of you wont like ideas where you trade down.

But I am curious. How sold is this board on Cousins who looks like the guy that is going to drop to you?

Would you deal the pick for an offer of Devin Harris and the 19th pick?

It would take more than Harris and post-lotto pick to relinquish the #5 (especially if Cousins is available).

Our largest need is a legitimate C not a PG.

Devin Harris is a terrible fit with the kings he would not do well next to Evans because he is a rather poor shooter and needs the ball to be effective. I don't think there is any realistic deal where the kings would look to add Harris.

He is not a great 3 point shooter...but he is not a poor shooter. And he is not a PG that needs to dominate the ball. Very strong defender.

We need a center more than a point guard right now. Harris just wouldn't fit in well at all for us.

He is a poor three point shooter.

Given the makeup of the Kings team, we need a guard that can knock down long range shots. Unfortunately, Harris is not it.

And I don't agree the notion that Harris doesn't dominate the ball. He has a rather high usage rate for a PG. He posted 25.2% and 27.4% the past two years.

And he is not the defender he once was back with the Mavericks.

he missed time last year. He was an all star the year before that. And the team he played on last year was a 12 win team....again...usage rate? lol....

Good value for sure, but the Kings would rather have Cousins or Favors I would imagine.

I don't think you are understanding what is usage rate.

It is a very respectable statistical evidence of how much a player dominates the ball given its criteria. I don't think you can not dismiss the high usage rate of Harris just because you do not believe the stat.

The problem is...its a situational stat. His situation would change radically with the Kings. But, fit...you are entitled to your opinion. I think he would fit in a whole lot better than Kevin Martin did personally. But that's my opinion.

So you really think this pick is all that then? OK.

I'm gonna have to say NO, Because we really need a young big-man (Cousins Hopefully) to build this team around with Reke. And I think the #5 pick is worth more then Harris + 19th.. IMO

I agree that Harris' situation will change once he gets to Sacramento. But in a negative way though.

Harris' role of being a primary scorer/handler will diminish due to the presence of Evans. Although, he would be a top offensive option with Landry in the lineup.

It will be likely that Harris' overall impact to the game will decrease. He will have less ppg and apg with Sacramento. Having Evans running the show, I don't see Harris as effective as with New Jersey. (not saying he will be useless but not the guy that averaged 20+ pg, 9 fta, 7 apg)

So why would we trade the #5 pick (Cousins), knowing that Harris will be regulated to this fashion? It is not worth it for the Kings. We much rather have Cousins who fills a legitimate need for us.

Evans/Cousins duo sounds MUCH better than Harris/Evans duo.

^^Don't forget that cousins ceiling is also off the charts. It's not just fit he's also the BPA

I think the only thing on the nets roster(I'm dismissing the pick as I believe you want to have the #3 and #5 picks) that I would consider trading the #5 pick in this draft for is Brook Lopez. Outside of that, I don't think the Nets have the value to acquire the #5 pick and at that price I see where you as a Nets fan wouldn't care for that type of deal. I'm just saying that's the piece that would motivate the Kings to move the pick.

No thanks, if we were to deal the 5th for a guard - it would be one who works well off of screens(doesn't need the ball in his hands) - knocks down the 3/mid range jumper consistently and can play average/above average defense.

As most have pointed out we're really in need of another big - preferably one who can score/rebound and play average defense. Or one who can Rebound/ Defend very well with average scoring ability.

I think the consensus is Devin Harris isn't the best fit. This is a Tyreke Evans town so I don't think you're going to see many Kings fans come in and welcome a PG that doesn't play well next to Reke. IMO if Udrih plays like he did last year we already have a solution. I really liked the two of them together.

The irony of your analysis is you have decided he wont play well next to a combo guard who tends to dominate the ball in Evans...yet the single best season of Devin's career was playing next to Vince Carter.

I am fine with the reasons fans love Cousins upside (personally I am thrilled we didnt draft him at #3...(I want no part of the downside of his growing backside). But, truly I respect anyone not wanting to make a deal...or falling in love with their draft pick and wanting to see if he could in fact live up to that dreaded word...potential.

But...I absolutely believe you have analyzed what Devin would do on your team poorly. I dont say this to try and sway you to like the trade for those of you that are just excited about your pick, I say it to the comments not repecting what Devin's role would be. I absolutely think he would fit in very well. Get back to being an elite defender. Be a secondary offensive option..and help keep double teams off the primary scorer. As that I got to see him do exactly that on his way to an all star team with Vince Carter 2 years ago...I will flat out say, using some sort of Hollinger-esque rationalle for fit was just not showing knowledge of watching the player.

You would consider it? Brook Lopez the best rook contract up and coming big man in the league? Dont worry...you are right we wouldnt care for that deal, unless of course you were giving us Tyreke Evans plus in a deal. Clearly that must seem just about as silly to you, which is why I mention it. Straight up prospect wise...Brook is more valuable than Evans. Yes I said it.
