Does Cousins start immediately?

Post#1 » by dub010 » Fri Jun 25, 2010 12:09 am

Anyone else think that Cousins will start over Dalembert, I think he should simply because I dont see Sam as part of the long term plan. Really interesting to see the kind of chemistry the Reke and DMC are gonna have together.

12-14th pick maybe, 5th? Nah, back to back ROY's sounds pretty sweet right now.

Like Tyreke bringing him along at a normal pace?
Who are the vets you speak of in front of him. Sam Dalembert is the only one.

I think that JT will be our starter at the 4 next year, probably a better fit next to Cousins.

It'll be interesting to see what comes out of summer league and camp. That's where Tyreke earned his job and I can't imagine that would be any different with Cousins.

I think we neend to start Cousins. Rumor has it though that the Pistons are still trying to trade for Cousins.

Is Reke playing in the summer league?

As I said there is a vet big on this team, not vets.
The only time a player this talented doesnt start is if you have someone that is a lot better than him and Dalembert isnt

Evans isn't playing in the SL this year.

He will be part with Team USA over the summer.

Dally will start on day one just to break him in. I mean we have a vet center, we might as well use him to start off the year until Cousins is mentally ready to start. I'm really excited for him to prove the world wrong on his attitude though, I think he, tyreke, greene and thompson will be great buddies and that'll help guide him next year.

I start him. Him and Evans are our future. Why not speed up the process? Besides, energy guys like Thompson and Dalembert are great off the bench.

I LOVE the direction Petrie is going. Our 4 and 5 positions are definitely set. If we can grab another PG and a shooter either through free agency or trades, we'll be on our way. I see playoffs no later than 2011-2012!

+1...

The starting job should be won by whoever wants it the most. Let Sammy and DMC both compete for it. I honestly don't see a problem with putting Cousins in reserve if Sammy plays better. That would give Cousins the opportunity to watch, learn and (hopefully) improve his game for the future. It also gives Petrie the opportunity to showcase Sammy for a potential mid-season deal.

But if Cousins proves through Summer League and camp that he's deserves the start, then you start him and let Sammy deal with it (like Beno had to for a while).
