Not sure if theres a thread about it already, but if not, why not make an official thread...
First news I've seen.
Ryan Thompson of Rider, Wayne Chism of Tennessee and Sylven Landesberg of Virginia have agreed to join the Kings' Las Vegas Summer League team, the club said Friday.
http://www.sacbee.com/2010/06/26/285072 ... eague.htmlGonna be a great offseason, already is from what we've done so far in the draft. Nice to see JT's brother get a look. And was always a fan of Chism. Havent seen Landesberg much, any opinion on him?
Looks like our first game is July 12 in Vegas. Can't wait. Anyone gonna be attending? I'll try to make it out for 1 or 2

Here's some info I got on SacTown Royalty...
Here's the updated VSL depth chart:
Donald Sloan
Sylven Landesberg / Ryan Thompson
Donté Greene / Omri Casspi
Jason Thompson / Jon Brockman / Wayne Chism
DeMarcus Cousins / Hassan Whiteside
http://aggbot.com/docs/link.php?id=9875288&r=tw&c=220Pretty Interesting Line up.. we still need a few more guards (IMO).
It looks like we could be one of the top team's in the SVL this offseason.
It should be fun to watch!!

I hope Ryan Thompson works out well for us - Could you imagine the chemistry we would have with him and Jason on at the same time? But I am on board with you - I would like to see at least 2 more guards on that roster, hopefully it will be someone who went un-drafted but Petrie still sees potential in them - I think undrafted players will bring a lot of heart/fight to the table.
Also - I hope to see the following:
1. White side average 2 blocks a game and go 5-10 points, 8+ rebounds per game.
2. DMC - 20pts 10 rebs a game...
3. Ryan Thompson - high shooting %
Lets do this boyz ! I know its just summer league but I would like to see some early production from Whiteside and DMC - would be very comforting and a signs of things to come

Honestly i doubt we pick up THOMPSON I truly believe they gave him this opportunity more out of respect for his brother JASON ! Does he have a shot yes as anyone does but i seriosly doubt he makes the team & if so i would expect him to be in the D leauge !

All True. I just hope Jason's sake that another team likes how Ryan plays and gives him a chance, like Wes Matthews.

I really like this Summer League team. Landesberg is a talent that could stick as an instant offense type off the bench. Sloan also has a chance because it appears that he is the only PG on the Summer League team, meaning he will have the ball a lot. If he impresses he could find a spot on the team.

The second thompson thing is just a joke. Does anyone actually think we're going to take on a 7th big while having an extremely thin backcourt?
Edit: I'm an idiot

Ahh, Jason's Brother (Ryan Thompson), Is a 6'6" Guard.. not a low post player.. so yeah, I can see us taking another guard.. since we need guard really bad.

Ryan's a good player. I actually like him more as a player than JT. He's got great size for a wing player.

Give me Christmas lol. Wasn't he one of the better players that went undrafted last year? Wasn't he a shooter too?

http://comm.rider.edu/wordpress/2010/04/15/thompson-shows-off-skills-at-portsmouth-invitational/I do not think you can right off Ryan as a charity throw in because he has legitamate game and can possibly make the team as an insurance guard. I hope he plays well..
He dropped 37 at portsmouth against good competition..
Very interested to see him play

If Evans wasn't part of the Team USA this summer, we would literally sported most of our starting lineup in the SL!
That would literally destroy every team in the SL. No contest. No one would have stopped Evans/Greene/Casspi/Thompson/Cousins/Whiteside/Brockman + decent talent.
I remember couple years ago we had:
Kevin Martin
Ron Artest (yes, he did play

)
Francisco Garcia
Justin Williams
Ronnie Price
+others
But most of the time, that team seemed to coast. They knew their spots on the roster are guaranteed, they played it safe. I mean, if they tried, a guy like Martin would have lit everyone and Artest locked down anyone in the SL.
So, I kind of expect some of our guys to coast most of the time with the exception of the new guys.

I guess Jason's out.
Donald Sloan / Tyrese Rice / Devan Downey
Sylven Landesberg / Dionte Christmas / Ryan Thompson
Omri Casspi / Donté Greene / Tyren Johnson / Lee Cummard
Hassan Whiteside / Wayne Chism / Jason Evans
DeMarcus Cousins / Steven Hill / Connor Atchley
