Hey guys, I didn't see a game thread for are VSL game today.. so i figured I'd make one myself.
I'm really excited for this game, I can't wait to see how are young team performs. Were gonna be playing the Pistons and their doing pretty well in the VSL, so it should be a great game!! Lets GO KINGS, BABY!! (seeing a Monroe Vs. Cousins Match-up, should also be fun to watch!!)
--Monroe's been struggling lately, but he's shown some flashes of brilliants, here and their.
He really knows how to run the floor on the fast break.. he's one of the best at that, for his size.
his foot work is also great, but it needs some work, he needs to keep his butt down a little more when he's making his moves.. but overall he's a great talent. this is going to be a good, maybe close game. (Pistons have been beating some other VSL teams pretty good!!) --they blew the Warriors out by like 20..
At 3 PM PT, the Kings' Vegas Summer League team will match up against the Pistons. The marquee match-up is Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, the fifth pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, against Pistons center Greg Monroe, the seventh pick. We also renew the Omri Casspi-Austin Daye rivalry, and mix in a little Donte Greene-Jonas Jerebko to go with it. Donald Sloan will be the starting point guard for your Sacramento Kings.
Let's go Kings.
http://aggbot.com/docs/link.php?id=10077295&r=tw&c=220The game is on NBA TV, if you want to watch it on com-cast/satellite or what ever you may have..
I think they also have it on ESPN.com for free.. bu I'm not sure, cuz I haven't check that at.
thoughts?

Technically, this is a game we should able to handle the Pistons and get a W. As much I would like to see that, I don't think the Pistons will fall down easily.
They have pretty good young talent in Monroe, Daye, JJ and a few others.
Although, this would their first legitimate opponent (Kings) for the Pistons. The Pistons took out the Warriors (lol) w/o too much effort.
All in all, I see the Kings pull out with a W.

Yeah, but the warriors are with out their frist round pick Udoh (he's out for 4-6 months from a wrist injury)... not sure if that would have helped them not get blown out though. haha!!

I tend to forget that there was some history between Daye and Casspi.
New Jersey hosted a massive workout over three days, inviting a whole slate of first round prospects and just about every NBA front office. Who stole the show? Austin Daye's fat lip. Or bloody lip, actually. Israeli prospect Omri Casspi reportedly manhandled the twiggy Daye in 5-on-5 competition. DraftExpress reported Daye ended up with a cut lip requiring stitches.
Observation in last year workout between the two:
“Austin Daye vs. Omri Casspi turned into a real wrestling match. Casspi just manhandled Daye, really threw him around. It was a bit disappointing to see how little Daye was able to compete from a strength perspective—Casspi is a kind of a skinny guy himself. At one point Casspi cut Daye’s lip open--he had to go to hospital for stitches. The Nets should have done a better job of getting someone to call fouls. Casspi was fouling the hell out of Daye. Some of the guys were looking at each other like ‘what are we watching here?’
Casspi was impressive, just like he’s been everywhere he’s gone. He plays hard, competes. He hit tough shots. Step-backs, runners. Then he missed some wide open J’s—go figure. He hits the toughest shots, but can’t always make the easiest ones. He looked like he could be a great complementary player in a 5 on 5. Definitely an atypical player for a European.
Revenge game for Daye?

Get pumped!!! I know its just a summer league - but I am excited to see our new talent - Also I want to see green and caspi duke it out for the sf position. From a vid I was watching, Caspi has been working a lot on his mid-range/post moves. I guess he figured out he was relying to much on the 3, and when it wasn't there he would tend to disappear - so I think we can look forward to seeing him rely on mid range/post game when his 3 isn't on..
Also should be interesting to see how well cousins does - specially against a guy like Monroe who was projected to go to us with the 5th pick... anyways game starting up in a few minutes ... lets get it on!

When Omri checks in , I would love to see him against Austin Daye. He has absolutely dominated him in the past.
