Hey guys,
I was reading an article from losangeles.sbnation.com, By Dexter Fishmore.
And it basically talks about "What LeBron In Miami Means For The Lakers," but then goes on to say..
that once Kobe Bryant retires and the lakers save cap space to rebuild, that they could possibly snatch Tyreke Evans or John Wall from FA when they become available.

I don't know about you guys.. but it really ticks me off when Big time markets (LA, MIAMI, others) can rebuild by signing SuperStar Free Agents!! And to take some one like Tyreke Evans from a small market franchise like "us," (Sacramento Kings). I'm not saying this well happen but it just makes me mad, how they just think they can take some one like REKE and become Dynasty again, that Quick!!??

While small markets like (Sac, CLE, OKL, and others) have to spend years rebuilding threw the draft.. that's just lame!! when Kobe does retire, and REKE goes into Free Agency, I don't think LA well have a team that Tyreke well be Interested in anyways... I mean who could turn down Boogie? and all the other young talent we already have.. that's just ridiculous!!

At that point, the Laker front office will have a decision to make. They'll be sitting on $14 million of contracts (Odom's and Luke Walton's) that expire after the 2012-13 season. One option will be to flip those expiring deals for an injection of talent. Doing so could bring reinforcements for Kobe and Pau and give them a fighting chance to stave off the Heat a little longer. It could also, however, hamstring the team's cap situation for years afterward. Letting the Odom and Walton deals expire and roll off the books could mean overdependence on a decrepitating roster -- as, for example, befell the Bad Boy Pistons in the early 1990s. But as well, it could set the franchise up to rebuild rapidly in the middle of the decade, when the likes of Tyreke Evans and John Wall might come available on the open market.

I wouldn't worry about it.

By 2013, the Kings are already PO-bound team and are one of the best teams in the NBA, if our progression continues.

The one key thing here is that Tyreke doesn't have the ego of LeMe!

LeBron is all about attention. He LOVES it more than ANYTHING else and would do anything to get it. Tyreke is class act that goes about his business quietly to the point where he is almost a shy, humble superstar. His character won't allow him to do what LeMe did.

I think Tyreke stays here especially if DMC works out as well as we hope he would.

Assuming the CBA is still the same then as it is now, the Kings would still be the only team that could pay their own free agents the absolute max money and contract length, regardless of where they are in cap space. As long as the team is still heading in the right direction and management remains committed to winning, the only reason a player would have to leave would be if they just didn't want to be in Sacramento. Nothing anyone can do about that.

I wouldn't be shocked or really that upset if he left. I mean, of course it would suck, but I wouldn't get all bitchy like cleveland did. The guy doesn't come from Sacramento, he'll probably want a ring and LA is a much better market for publicity. If I'm Tyreke and I'm not winning championships in Sacramento, I'm gone.

Way to jump the gun and kick Cleveland while they're down.

It's just a wishful thinking of Laker jounalist about their future, Tyreke will be restricted FA in 2013, he needs the Kings' blessing to bolt, and also, as much as I like Tyreke, I really, really, doubt he'll command the same attention LeBron James commands.
Just a reminder of the recent history of free agency, since Shaq left Orlando, LeBron is the only superstar to sign outside of his team against their wishes.

Sorry, life isn't fair.

It sucks when you see guys ignore your franchise to go to a big market team, but it comes with the territory when your a fan of a smaller market team. The way to approach that reality is to just enjoy it all the more when the team does finally win a championship.

You can believe me or not doesn't matter but I personally know Tyreke and from being around him for as long as I have, I'm positive he's the type of superstar that is going to remain loyal to this franchise and might even retire as a King. I've heard his brother talk about how the whole family loves sacramento and the way the maloofs have treated his family has been astounding, and then saying that Reke is going to resign when his contract is up.

Take my word for it or not...

He will stay. Tyreke is not an ego maniac like Lebron. He wanted to come to Sac from day 1, loves it here, and by the time his contract is up he will be competing for Championships (ala Durant). He isnt going anywhere.

Where in South Sac you from? I stay in SS as well. Saw Tyreke at the mall (Apple Store) and he was a cool guy. I think this was right before he flew to China?? He took some pictures, said hello to some fans. Dude is huge in person. I was like man the Kings have a monster. I hope you're right about Evans. I am more worried about Cousins who seems to be a guy that would bolt for bigger lights.

not technically the south sac, but its southern sacramento lol. over there kinda by elk grove on vintage park drive. past gerber and watt.

I can't see the Kings passing on the chance to extend Reke ASAP. Durant extended so I wouldn't worry too much about it unless Tyreke doesn't want to play here.

I agree, and there really isn't any reason for him to leave if we're competing, and like others have said, he's not the egomaniac like other stars. If anything, he'll want to avoid the spotlight that free agency brings.

The Maloof's aren't stupid.

Barring a sudden regression this year, they will extend him for max as soon as the CBA stuff settles out. At this point that is after his third season, so the contract will run well past that 2013 time frame. This is some Laker journalist trying to make future rumblings because they won the Championship and there is NOTHING to talk about now until midseason next year. Even what few guys they have in the SL suck (regardless of the typical Laker overhype). So they are suddenly facing the fact that they really have mortgaged the future of the franchise for the first time in a long time with the Pau deal and the big contracts that are locked in through that season.
