Post#1 » by YC42Balla » Wed Jul 14, 2010 11:20 pm

Hey guys,
looks like another great summer league match-up!! hmm.. not really, but who knows this might be a close one. I thought we were going to blow out LA, since they lost to the Pistons but it didn't work out that way..

here's the stuff you need to know:

SAC/MIN at 10pm/et on NBATV, thats 7:00pm (PST)...

--Min (0-1) *home Team*
--Sac (2-0) *away team*

Via Sacramento Kings twitter -->>
Coach Elie said Tyrese Rice, Ryan Thompson, DG, Cousins and Whiteside will start for Kings tonight.

They are w/o Wesley Johnson and Johnny Flynn.

And their bigs are meh.

The only NBA-level talent they have is Ellington and Hayward.

I mean, if the Spurs manhandled the Wolves (the last game), we should able to win this almost effortlessly.

But for the Kings sake, I don't want them to underestimate anyone in the SL. I want every game to be competitive.

From what I'm hearing, Wesley Johnson is actually playing. Hmm, I thought his hamstring was bothering him, I guess it wasn't a huge issue for him.

I don't know about you guys - but what I want to see from our guys today is :

Team : MOVEMENT - We did a good job on spreading the court yesterday, however I did not see a lot of movement - It seems like we did a lot of posting up our big men (which was the game plan of course) but it seems like there was a lot of standing and watching and not enough off the ball movement (especially early on).

Team : Pick n Rolls - I would like to see the team really try to find other ways of getting the ball to DC - sure giving him the ball post up style is good - but not every time... Why not try some pick n rolls... off ball screens.... find a cutting dc to the basket... etc etc...

DC : Post up closer to the paint, and further away from the baseline. I understand our goal is to run the offense through DC - but he really needs to do a better job setting up closer to the paint and give him enough space on the floor for him to still have the option to go baseline if he wants/needs to.

Whiteside : He still had 2 blocks yesterday, but it seems like the day before that he had his hands on the ball 10+ times, yesterday maybe 5ish? .. Maybe I got a bit spoiled after his dominant Defensive showing in game 1... but Just would like to see him a bit more active this game on the defensive end... Also I understand that the lakers had a much better game plan then the pistons most likely because they watched some film on our game - they seemed to be trying to keep whiteside away from the paint when ever they could - and they did a great job at that...

Guards: Less dribbling more ball movement - and more spot up shooting ... also using off the ball screens for a nice quick catch and shoot.

Coachie on Cuz: "He's the best player at what he does I've ever seen"
CWebb: "That's a compliment"

Coachie on Cuz: "He does almost everything solid and he's only 19. Passes off double teams, low post scoring top of the key shooting -- he needs to run more"

Coachie and Webber together! Ah man, tears almost came to my eyes. And it's funny, when coach talks, everybody shuts up and listens.

Just listening to both C-Webb and coachie, there is a MASSIVE intelligence of basketball there.

The Kings looks gassed. 3 games in 3 days does take a toll on players.

Hayward looks good..aswell as Ellington. Downey needs to go in a washer..

Cousins showing post moves early. And I think we're getting to carried away with this guy bringing up the ball on a fast break. I dnt like that at all!!!! Like Ellie said, "He needs to get his big butt on the box"

Lol @ CWebb tuning out Kahn while he was trying to justify his bonehead moves! Lol

Kahn has GOT to be THE DUMBEST GM in the history of the NBA...with that said, Haywood doesn't look soo much like a bad pick he looks kind of good
