S & T Barnes for backcourt help

I just read on the main Real GM page that Barnes to Tornoto hit a snag because they already used their mid-level and Orlando can't sign him for more than $2 million in a Sign and Trade (this is a problem because Barnes and Toronto agreed to a 2-year $10 million deal).
So, here's a crazy idea:
The Kings could sign Barnes to the 2-year $10 million contract he's looking for, as a planned sign and trade with Toronto and get PG Banks and SG Belinelli. Both players have expiring contracts, Belinelli brings some decent offense off the bench and Banks is basically just depth at the pg spot.
We could do something similar with the Cavs (who also want Barnes) for Parker and Telfair (also both expiring contracts).
What do you think?

Ya I'd rather just keep Barnes if he is willing to sign.

I would do that deal. I'm not someone who is in love with the over-hyped Matt Barnes. I'd only want him if there was a one year contract, that extra year is just to much. I would love to see Belinelli over here though.

Barnes NEEDS to come back and represent his hometown! I really wouldn't mind having casspi play the 2 and Donte at the 3, both back ups, get a legit starting SG and SF or have Donte' start the 3. whichever.

I do think Barnes is a litte over hyped. I dont view him as a final piece like some people seem to think but at 2 years 5 million a year is a great price.

My thing is is that I would rather spend that money next year on someone who will be with this team when we're fighting for a playoff spot.

I agree that she should save our money for big time free agents. We definitely need some help at guard or wing this year though. Especially with our injury history

would it matter if sammys coming off the books anyways?
Aren't we already 15 mill under the cap. And we would have dalemberts contract coming off. Why not give it a shot at barnes. I'd rathe give him 5 million per and have a decent guard than play tyreke for a longer time and risk injury

This could go here or Delonte West thread because it relates to both. Cavs want to get rid of Delonte. Per Hoopshype Cavs are interested in signing Matt Barnes because fall out with Raptors. We need a combo guard.
Let's sign Matt Barnes then trade him to Cavs for Delonte West. Delonte has the on court skills we could use. He's just nutty off the court. He's only has 1 year left and it's partially guaranteed. If things don't work out then nothing lost. Go for it Geoff.

I don't know if the scenario the OP suggested would work...
That being said, the kings are better off signing Barnes themselves. I think he, on a two year deal would be a good fit. Belinelli, not so much. The Kings success will be when they hustle and take advantage of the other team underestimating them. Belinelli isn't scrappy and can go hot or cold quite quickly (usually cold, lol). Banks, I think has more value than just his contract (obviously that is what makes him attractive this year in his contract). He is tough and can defend. When the raps called his number he stepped up and worked his @ss off and then went back to riding pine. His offense isn't pretty, but I can see him on the kings as more of an asset than just an expiring this year. I just don't picture Belinelli on this team as a positive addition, from what I've seen of the kings.

Dude became a total headcase when his mom passed, but man, he's a tough one for sure. I love the edge he plays with. I think he'd fit right in. I was so pissed when he was involved in that Webber trade, he was playing so well for us.

If the kings can be a tough team they will be exciting to watch.
One of my favorite examples of toughness is this:

Unfortunately this is not allowed under the CBA...teams can't "sign-and-trade" a player who is not their own free agent. If the Kings signed him he could not be traded until after the season started.
