Jeter played with the Cavs SL team this year in LV. He looked pretty good. Hit a game winning shot.

I don't know much about Jeter, but hopefully his first name is not a reflection of his game.

Jeter will be a great 3rd PG, and can play off the ball with Tyreke handling.

Jeter has been on the NBA radar for quite a while, but over the past few years he showed a lot of improvement on his shot and his ability to run an offense.
I know a lot of people will be underwhelmed or disappointed we didn't get bigger names, but I think Petrie went about this the right way. Neither are likely to get a large number of minutes, but both are still decently young and can fill a role for the team over the short term.
We need to be patient as Petrie continues building this team. We came into the offseason with a number of needs/question marks, and not all of them could ultimately be resolved in this one offseason. We have the trade deadline and all next offseason to address the backup guard spots if it continues to be a problem.

Nice to see Pooh Jeter make his way back. I've liked what I've seen from him since his stint with us a few years back.

I don't expect a lot from either of these guys, but I would much rather have these two than Adam "Trail of Tears" Morrison...

Antoine Wright and "Winnie the" Pooh Jeter.
I guess the only thing I can say is, we'll see what happens...

i know that it is not a very good evaluation of his potential in the NBA, but he played pretty well in the Israeli league last season. i have a feeling he will adjust just fine, as did Will Bynum recently.
*edit: talking about Jeter

Pooh Freakin' Jeter? what type of a name is that?
Did his parents decide to name him while watching a Whinny the Pooh episode or something?
When I hear Pooh Jeter.. I think of a tiny yellow bear who loves honey and is really good at baseball. it's just not right...

I watched Pooh Jeter pretty extensively this year in the VSL and he showed a lot of good qualities.
He's quick as hell with the ball in his hands, but he's also very much in control of things as a lead guard. Not a lot of turnovers and he ran the show and controlled the tempo pretty well from what I saw.
His jumper really isn't that bad either, he made quite a few 20 footers, but that seemed to be about the extent of his range. He wasn't all that great from three (the game winner aside). Also strong from the foul line.
Obviously his biggest problem is a complete lack of size. He's listed as 5'11", but there's no way he's even close to that. He's probably 5'8" or 5'9" on a good day. He is just so small he's always gonna be a liability defensively and since he's also not a very good three point shooter, that hurts his chances too.
That said, as a third point guard, you could do much worse. I'm glad he was able to parlay his performance in Vegas into an NBA gig.

Jeter almost made the Kings three years ago. If he's improve, I can this as an underrated signing

Sweet. I met Pooh in Vegas. Very nice, down to earth guy (literally). He's a really solid, if small, player.

I've known Pooh since he was coming out of Portland and working out for NBA teams before the draft. He's a very high character player, and I'm happy he's finally getting a shot at the NBA. As a rookie, he played for the Colorado 14ers in the D-League and was one of the top 2 point guards in the league that year, but most NBA people thought he was too small to make it. So for the past few seasons, he's been playing for high level teams in Europe in Spain, the Ukraine, and Israel.
Pooh is a true point guard who loves to get out and push the ball in transition. He sees the court quite well, and really knows how to involve his teammates offensively. Thought he always looks to pass first, he can score surprisingly well for a small guy going to the rim, and is money with his mid-range pull-up jumper to the college three point line. In terms of weaknesses, other than size, I would say he's not a great three point shooter, though he's better than some of his percentages indicate because the only time he really takes this shot is when the shot-clock is running low.
Some other random facts:
-He has a blog over at draftexpress.com. Check it out.
-Pooh is a good friend of Baron Davis and is originally from the LA area.
-His nickname comes from his grandma
-He shares the same agent as Hassan Whiteside.

Ya know, I was just about to ask where he got that name from.
And since when do you broadcast an embarrassing nickname from either your mother or grandma to the entire world? Seriously? Pooh? You couldn't come up with anything better? Or at least a tad more mature?
Thanks for the info though.
