The Ideal Backcourt Fit For Tyreke Evans

So I've seen lots of differing opinions on the board about whether or not certain players would fit in well at the 1/2 position next to Tyreke. I wanted to see what NBA player people think would be the absolute best fit in our backcourt regardless of whether or not we can potentially land him at this time. If you could choose any1 who would it be and why.
I obviously want to exclude guys like Kobe, Lebron, Dwade, etc because they would undoubtedly become the focus of our offense if they came to Sac.
Im thinking more of a player that would fit in well leaving Tyreke as our star player and primary ball handler. The guy that most often comes to mind for me is Brandon Roy. I think his ability to ball handle, play off the ball, shoot and defend big guards makes him perfect. Thoughts?????

J.R. Smith... skil-wise, he would be perfect...
Joe Johnson I think would be the most perfect fit of all players in the league.

Doug Christie. Defend the star player. Can play off ball. Can handle the ball. Shot was decent. Lets find another Doug Christie.

Current players - Manu Ginobili. Kevin Martin should have been perfect as a pair. Jason Richardson would be a nice fit as well.

Interesting. That's the same thing I was saying last year, yet everyone scoffed. And here we are now, desperately trying to fill the void that we now have at the other guard spot as a result...

Doug Christie??? I scoff at the notion!
Actually that's the type of player we all hoped Francisco Garcia would be. Now he hasn't been healthy since he was in like the 6th grade so we've all kind of written him off. I think he needs to be the player to fill that role.
So to answer the question I think Garcia just needs to live up to his potential and stay healthy.

We're trying to fill the guard hole because people didn't agree with you?
The thing that I think people miss is that the player next to Tyreke has to have some PG in them. They need to be able to take the ball up and set up an offense, and to be able to be in a "PG mode" at times. They also need to be able to shoot, and being able to score for themself wouldn't hurt.
Beno is a great fit next to Tyreke. A really, really great fit. I don't understand how people don't remember this.

People aren't saying that Beno isn't a good fit I just think its common knowledge that he doesn't have the talent level that we are looking for at that position long term. Ya he's fine for now and is a decent role player but he is still going to be overmatched against Western Conference playoff teams point guards. You only have to look 2 seasons back when Beno started most of the year and we had the WORST record in the NBA. Not saying it was Beno's fault I just see his talent level as more of an off-the-bench type as opposed to starting; like he was for Tony Parker in San Antonio before coming to Kings.

Beno is a good fit but ideally we would want someone bigger and a better defender especially one that can guard the other teams top scorer. This would allow Evans to guard the other teams point and utilize his size and strength.

It's pretty simple, the perfect fit is Eric Gordon. He is a big pg or small sg, has combo guard skills, great shooter, good passer and ball handler, and a very good defender. I would have him start at pg and Evans at sg, and the kings could be physically dominant most of the time at both guard spots.
Kevin Martin was a poor fit because he wasn't a ball handler and wasn't able to make plays for others, that's why jr smith would be a bad fit as well.

I think if somehow we could land Danny Granger.... that'd be the best. He can handle a little for a 3.
Evans
Granger
Cousins
fill in the 4 and 2 with whoever

^^^That didn't answer the op's question at all. Small forwards aren't part of the backcourt. Sure granger might be nice but it wasn't really answering the op.

sorry if I went "off topic" but my point is that if we had Granger...then it wouldn't really matter who the other back court player would be..
Tyreke and Granger I think would be deadly.

The Doug Christie analogy is pretty much perfect.
A guy like that - who could start as the point BTW - and doesn't demand the ball in his hands to make himself effective is the ideal backcourt mate for Reke. Size is a must. I mean 6'4"/210 or better, otherwise you negate the size/strength advantage Reke gives you.
i don't know that there is currently a perfect match with this, but if Francisco comes back at his full abilities and plays at least 75 games, then you do have your guy right there.

I'm with mitch! What's wrong with Beno? Not every position has to be a superstar, and Beno plays really well with Tyreke. It's like they were made for each other.

^^im with you guys. Going out and aquiring a guy that fits better than udrih probably isn't worth the assets it would cost to do so. It is very important to have a better team than it is to have a big 3 or whatever. We have a big 2 in cousins and tyreke with above average role players. If everyone develops and gels and the team stays together then this team will be set up very well to win a championship.
