Tyreke gettin' some hate

Stephen Curry is blowing past his rival this summer. While Evans has to live down a very disturbing incident of speeding, Curry has an excellent chance to make Team U.S.A.'s final roster for the world championships beginning later this month.
Evans beat out Curry, Brandon Jennings and other impressive candidates for Rookie of the Year, and the honor was richly deserved. Since then, things haven't gone so well. Evans was an early cut from Team U.S.A., and now this. Curry, meanwhile, seems to be ascending to a higher level, to the point where his shooting and floor leadership have earned him universal respect in the hoops community. Should be interesting to watch how things develop when the NBA season starts.

This guy is an idiot. He fails to mention Evans was injured....Plus, he even quotes that she-male Ailene Voisin and calls her "Sacramento Bee's
esteemed columnist/basketball writer."
That made me want to puke.

Yea it sickens me - they all just want a story to write about. They're turning this into something it is not, I cannot wait for our team to prove all of the critics wrong in the coming years - it will be sweet revenge. And just watch some of the same doubters will be crawling up their butts saying how great the kings are... we'll be able to throw their past statements right back in their face.. lol

Relax guys, this is one writer (who incidentally writes from the bay area, so he's not exactly the most unbiased) in a sea of writers, most of which recognize Tyreke's speeding incident for what it was, a foolish mistake made by a 20 year old guy. Let's remember who exactly did win the ROY and who didn't. Let's not be like a lot of fans who get fixated on perceived biases, "haters", and the vast injustices that are perpetrated against us (I'm looking at you Raider fan). Let's try to be better than that.

Ho hum...probably the only guy in the world who has the hots for Ailene Voisin and is just trying to impress her by bashing Evans and the Kings for her. No real need to take the dude seriously.

Aren't the Warriors (and their beat writers) supposed to hate on us? What an opportunity to use Tyreke Evans' failures as a way to promote Steph Curry, no? The difference with Kings fans is we don't mention Evans and Curry in the same breath.
Don't be so volatile. The Warriors have been going through changes...they need to promote their brand and their players. The fact they need to use the Kings in the same sentiment means we're their measuring stick, no? We've used Portland/OKC as a way to measure our rebuilding. I guess we just have higher aspirations.

Curry Is playing great basketball. PLUS he's a better shooter that Tyreke. Curry is also a better fit for team USA. Tyreke is the better player right now though. For now.

^ Its not just the warriors, many writers have been bashing on reke lately. This is just one example out of many out there - I don't think we're being overly defensive about this honestly - When they bring up a story that is over a month old and try to sensationalize it, it just makes me sick. Why don't they go bring up tiger woods affair/wreck again? lol...

Well Tyreke is a millionaire in the national spotlight. If he doesn't like criticism he should work for the state or something. He's got things to do other than worry about what's being said in papers. If he plays good basketball they will change their tune. He needs to focus on playing basketball. I still think we should not be concerned.

Where is all the bashing? I don't seem to read much of it or see much of it on espn. I'll bet I could find two to four positive articles on Tyreke for every one negative one. Generally what few bad things are written, tend to be written by either opposing teams fans on realgm and other sites like it, or opposing teams fan bloggers who are also pretty biased.
I dig your point on the story being one month old, but the video is brand new. Using the Tiger Woods analogy imagine if there turned out to be a video tape of his fight with his wife. It would be front page news on every newspaper in the country, it would have tens of millions of hits on youtube.

For now?
FOR NOW? Tyreke is the better player now, then, and always!!
How is Curry a better fit, when team USA already has many Guards that can shoot?
Evans is unique, he can play the 1,2,3 spot (and can defend all them very well). That's what the team USA scouts are looking for.. versatility. Evans is a match-up nightmare on both ends of the Court.
Evans has the ability to dominate all guards, and well dominate Curry on any given day of the week.

As has already been said, let's not get into another pissing match with Warriors fans. Fans of both teams should be willing to agree that both are good young players, and let's leave it at that.
We also don't really need a "Tyreke Evans Defense Fund" yet. The amount of flack he has caught from the reckless driving incident is about what should be expected for a high profile athlete. If he does blossom into a legit superstar you can expect a requisite increase in haters though.
The only exception I will note about criticism for Tyreke was the ridiculous Voison article in the Bee that made the case for some vague notion of on-court punishment or that he could no longer be a leader because he made a mistake. The stupidity with that boggles the mind. That sort of goes without saying though since Voison is a hack writer who is desperately trying to become the next Skip Bayless by getting page views / readers from essentially trolling fans.

What an idiot. Evans was cut mainly cause he was injured. Does not prove Curry is better

Neither of them are gonna actually make the team, but this kind of one sided without the facts journalism makes me sick. I normally love the Chronicle, but that article could basically have been written on RealGM - snotty, ignorant, and without fact checks.

Please name these other quality shooters on Team USA. From what I could see, Curry was always going to have a much easier time making the team precisely because they were lacking in consistent shooters (needed to break the zone defense so popular in international play), whereas Evans, even if not injured, would've been competing against a pretty formidable of slashers and shooting/combo guards.

Unlike Evans, Curry can proficiently play both guard positions. If they need a shooter/scorer, he can play off the ball. If they need a point who can distribute and pose as a threat from deep when teams zone up, he can do that. He's more versatile in what they need in the international game than what Evans does, which is more suited to the NBA game as a ball-dominant slasher/scorer.
