His shooting form looks nice! lets just see if he can make it under pressure during a game.

It is good to see him working on his jump shot - if he can get an outside game, he will be 2x better then he was last season - and that is saying a lot.

Good to see him working on the spot up three in particular. I think that should be a higher priority than the mid-range pull-up, since we now have a future post presence for him to play off of.

If he can develop a consistent three point shot and can create his own pull up midrange then he will certainly be a top 3 player in the next few years. His potential is unlimited really if he can only get that shot better and make defenders respect it and try to play him tightly. In that case he can drive right by anyone playing up close and pull up and shoot over anyone sagging off. Its unstoppable

That's good to hear. He'll be that much closer to unstoppable if he keeps it up.

I can't really tell, because the camera follows the ball instead of Tyreke, but his mechanic looks better. He's not bringing the ball as far behind his head and he's not fading away anymore. You can never make a non-shooter into a shooter, but you can however improve their technique and make them decent. I can't bleepin' wait for next season.

That's good to see Evans is working hard on his jumper all summer long.

As always, Evans looks very smooth here.

I honestly think Tyreke may literally be the best player in the league at getting to the basket or at least top 3 with wade and lebron. Cant wait to see if his jumper has really improved he seems to be the kind of guy who would work on something until its perfect. I can't wait for even preseason.

Nice to see him working over the summer on the part of his game he needs the most work on.

I bet tyreke was tall at an early age, my coach taught me to shoot the way tyreke has been shooting because i was almost 6 foot in 5th grade. It happened to work well if you faced up just outside the post, none of the other guys could swipe at the ball because of the height of the ball. But in high school i played at pg and they tried to change my shot as soon as they saw what i was doing. I was still tall but at 6"4 i was a point guard and putting the ball up so high takes you out of a tripple threat position.

Putting the ball up so high when you shoot kind of telegraphs your shot; fact is if amguy shoots like that it is very easy to recognize when hes about to shoot. The mere fact that hes changing to a lower shooting position may allow him more uncontested shots which would greatly improve his efficiency simply by virtue of being less contested than when he telegraphs his own shot. The way he shoots could also have artificially created more contested shots than he would otherwise have experienced.

Nick Collison hits college 3point Jumpers in practice like crazy. Take practice with a grain of salt.

Him making the shot isn't the spectacular thing here, it's that his shot looks noticeably different than what he used this last season. He's going straight up as opposed to leaning back. Looks A LOT better and way more fluid. Wow, if he can carry that stroke into next season on a consistent basis and not get back into his old habits too often Tyreke may actually be getting a major step closer to being unstoppable.

My point was, wait for Game speed to see if it'll work for him.

I think if he can maintain that lower quicker release he would see a 5% jump just based on having fewer shots contested. Now if he can actually improve his accuracy as well we will be in buisness .

I think that longfellow makes a great point.

I also grew early and was 6'3" by the time I hit JV ball and was moved up immediately. We had a coach that predicated defense and post offense and thus at an age where I outsized guys at the 2, I would just post people up to get my offense inside and from the line. It took me a lot of years after that to smooth out my jumper and even now at 40 I find that I often will make the same fundamental shooting errors when i pull up quick instead of being set.

The lower release is key and something that he should have no problem with at his height/size.

Theres nothing wrong with shooting high in the post in fact it keeps you from getting blocked, but shooting that way on the perimeter lets the defender know your about to shoot the moment the ball goes above the shoulder allowing the defender to close out the moment the ball passes that verticle plane. In basketball it truly is the smallest of things that can change the level of success.

Damn you 6 footers... My short arse was always getting blocked.
