We start on the road...again, and no Evans (suspended) or Dalembert (injured), but don't worry, we still got this! We got Cousins!
Actually, I think it'll be a close game, but we eek out the win at the end.
GO KINGS!

Being as an opponent for a home opener, it will be very hard to win. The home team will be pumped up and will try to win it in front of their crowd. Considering that we are without Evans and Dalembert, I wouldn't be surprised the Kings lose this one.
But I could see them winning if we execute the offense well and limit the TOs. Aside of Cousins & Landry (assuming they perform well), the Kings need most of their supporting cast able to contribute. Guys like Beno, Casspi etc should step up.
The Kings lost (roughly) the last 6 out of the 9 games in the Target Center.

Really? This being a hard game? This is one of our easiest games all season. If we can't beat the T-Wolves...then we're looking at being one of the bottom 5 teams again this year.

1. No Tyreke.
2. No Dalembert.
3. These are not last year's Timberwolves.

Well for me, I think Minny is going to surprise everyone. I don't think they are as bad what most people think.
If the Kings conditioning is bad as it seems (the Kings looked pretty flat in the last game against Utah imo), the Wolves could run the Kings off the court.
I wouldn't say it is a hard game to win, it is totally a winnable game in the Kings pov but losing Evans (& Sammy) hurts. Especially in the home opener of Minny.

I hope Cousins is a man that keeps his word. He said during the offseason that he will make sure that the teams that passed on him will pay:
Cousins is making it known that he's out to make teams that passed him pay."I can’t wait to play them because I’m going at their necks,"
This is your night Cousins. Show them.

Love talks about Cousins matchup:
"Myself, Darko (Milicic) and our other big guys are going to have our hands full with him," Love said. "I look at Cousins and I think, 'Man, he could be a 20-10 guy in this league and be an absolute monster.'
"He fell a little bit in the draft, and I definitely think he's out to prove people wrong, show every team that passed on him that they made a mistake. And that includes us."

A little bird told me that there's a chance Dalembert plays, but I wouldn't count on it.
Anyway, without Tyreke, I wouldn't be surprised to see us lose this--especially since our openers on the road are usually not only losses, but horrible losses that temporarily kill all hope for the season (before our hope for the season is permanently killed later on).
I don't know if I have a strong impression necessarily of what we need to do to win. I just hope the guys are well-prepared and hungry.

It would just be beautiful if DMC came out and dropped a 25-30/12/4/2 night on the Wolves.
THAT would not only leave them just CRYING, but it would really go a LONG way toward flipping a big fat bird to all the pundits.
Realistically, I'll be happy with a nice solid effort with minimal mistakes and being able to eake out a win in the end. I'm actually going to be recording it for later because I'll be watching game one of the series.

The wolves have alot of solid role players on their team that could hurt us tonight.

The key to this thread is to read the OP and all posts with the Space Jam song playing in the background.
Anyway, I actually expect an ugly game to start. I think we'll settle in mid 2nd quarter, have a lot of TO's, and be down at half.
Eventually I say we win this one in a close game. However I wouldn't be surprised if we lose.
Cousins puts up an inefficient 20/11/3
Beno has a good game.
Casspi comes out launching with no Tyreke in the lineup.

I think this game comes down to if Beno comes out like he did in the games that tyreke didn't play last year. When tyreke was out last year Beno came in and ran the team very smoothly and played like a pass 1st PG making sure that each of our guys got good solid touches and easy looks. If he can do that tonight then we should be in very good shape as I think we have a much better front court (although I'd love to steak pekovic, dude is tough).

The Wolves have no real stand-out player, but they play very well together, and they look to control the tempo. They'll be like us last year- staying in games till the end, but will ultimately struggle to close them out. It won't be easy, and we have crappy luck in Minnesota to boot.
I still predict a win though

We always seem to struggle but it would be nice. Then we can have the "Are we better without Tyeke?" controversy.

No Evans or Daly, no prob I still think we win this one. Landry looked terrible in pre season but I think he has a good game tonight. I think DMC will roll as long as he doesnt get into foul trouble, thats the only thing that will stop him from having a good game IMO. LOL at some pup fans saying they can't wait for Darko to dominate Cousins. I mean has Darko ever dominated anyone, ever?

Also we seem to have a hard time with the pups but correct me if I'm wrong it was usually jefferson, brewer and foye that would go off and 2 of those guys are gone. I expect Love to have have a good game but no one else on the pups make me nervous.
