I'm curious as a Kings fan what you guys think of a Brandon Roy, Tyreke Evans back court. It does seem a bit repetitive but there is just a nagging thought in the back of my mind that it would just flabbergast opponents and just work for some reason. Given his knees I can see why some would turn away but it also means he can be had below his value. Something like Garcia, Thompson and our 2nds may be enough to snag him. Thoughts?

This team can use another "ROY." haha, I would love for the kings to acquire him. But honestly I'm not sure what it would take to get him or what key players Petrie is willing to give to snatch him.

It well be interesting to see what happens to Roy as the season goes on. I understand he has bad knees but I seriously hope that he can over come them. He's a great player and it sucks to see such a great young talented player go down like this.

The Trail Blazers were aware that Brandon Roy had bad knees when they drafted him in 2006, and they knew he had no meniscus left in either knee when they gave him a five-year, $82 million maximum contract last summer, team president Larry Miller said on Thursday.

Just from these quotes alone, I think it is not wise to give up anything worthwhile for Roy. The most the Blazers can expect is probably an expiring contract (MAYBE a decent prospect too).

I think a team like Orlando should trade for him. He is a player that will make that team first in the east. I would love to see him on the Kings but with those knees he shouldn't be on a rebuilding team.

It sort of depends if Roy lacks only meniscus, or if he lacks cartilage altogether. The latter means he's utterly doomed, and the former can be managed, although he'll never be the same basketball player. I don't know if we want to pay that kind of salary for an injury-forced role player.

I feel bad for Roy, who seems like a genuine good guy, and for the Blazers and their fans. Roy will probably need knee replacement sometime as the cartilage wears away (if it hasn't already). I have chronic knee pain too and it's not fun. I can't imagine what it would be like for an athlete.

If he only has no mensicus he could probably focus his game mainly on his fundamentals which he's good at anyway and still be good. He just might miss a lot of games though. He'd be a perfect compliment to Tyreke but IDK if we can afford the risk.

I think there are probably too many red flags to be comfortable giving anything of real value for Roy, especially with the size of his contract.

Over the course of how well he's able to deal with the injury may increase interest, but by that point, Portland may not be interested in moving him anymore

We don't need another ball dominant guard, least of all one with bad knees (do we really need a reminder of our recent history and painful rebuild). We need to get the ball down to our big man, not ignore him more than we already do on offense.
