sure would. it would have to be protected, not sure yet how much.

I have always liked Brooks. Plus Chris Rock is my favorite comedian and it would be cool to have his little brother on the team.

I think I would be tempted to do that as a Houston fan, depending on the protection. Our problems have been at SF, and Caspi could be a help there. When I first read about this, I was thinking that Sac would be after Brooks and Battier. Battier is an ideal type of veteran to have around young guys like those in Sacramento.

I will say one thing though, the Kings and the Rox trade with each other so often (usually to a solid mutual benefit) that I wouldn't bet against there being a trade between the two teams by the end of the year.

I don't see the Rockets trading Brooks. At least not yet. Maybe at the deadline, though I'd like him to stay. Either way I don't really see the Kings as a good trade partner involving Brooks.

On another note: Assuming the Rockets are in the playoffs hunt come trade deadline, would you guys consider trading Landry for either Hill or Patterson and the Rockets 2nd rounder (rights to swap with LAC) ?

I obviously dont speak for all Kings fan, but I would love to grab Brooks and Battier.

I would go Casspi + top 8 protected first for Brooks
or
Casspi, Landry, top 12 protected first for Brooks and Battier

When are people going to learn that when they see the name Ailene Voisin associated with an article that they are reading something that is more deeply rooted in fantasy land than anything ever imagined by Peter Vescey?

Both Teague and Brooks would be great additions. But they will come with price tags much higher than Petrie is willing to pay (and he should not be willing to pay). If Brooks especially could be had so easily, he would have been part of last year's deal involving K-Mart. Have the Kings had "thoughts" about these guys? More than likely yes. I've also had "thoughts" about Eva Longoria....but just "thinking" about something doesn't mean that it is anything more than a fantasy.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

this is a basketball forum, thats what we do on here. We have thoughts about what we could and should do. 95% of the stuff on here is fantasy. But its fun.

Lawl, Vosion getting actual readers.

Also, unprotected first for Brooks? Def. not since he's unextended, probably not a top 5 pick for him.

I don't like Brooks. His defense is beyond terrible and he's a chucker, so no thanks. We might as well trade to get Martin back, and we all know how that experiment worked.

I definitely agree with those who say we don't need anymore youth. Brooks is close to an all star caliber player IMO and would fit well in sactown. If giving up an unprotected first is what it takes then I would do it in a heartbeat.

If we are trading to get Brooks wouldn't Udrih more than likely be on his way out in the trade? I love the guy an all but i think our staff likes head alot, because of his defense mostly.

I'm not a fan of any of these options. The problem isn't that we don't have enough good, talented player right now. The problem is that we have no veteran leadership to bring it all together.

The only way Sac gets Brooks is for Thompson. Houston right now is playing Brad Miller at C since Yao is hurt. But Sac will have to add to it because they killed Thompson's value right now.

Likely next years second would at least be needed to make Houston happy.

The Kings trade Landry & Udrih for Brooks and Battier. The Rockets get their 6th man back and a good combo guard for Adelmans offense. The Kings get a speedy PG who has shooting range and a veteran defensive specialist.
