Tyreke Evans: foot injury causing slump?

I saw this on ESPN/fantasy sports. Thoughts??
There are varying degrees of severity to this foot injury, but it's almost always a painful and bothersome malady, and one that could explain why Evans was just 2-for-13 on Thursday and is stuck in one of the worst slumps of his career. Right now there's been no indication that he is considering taking some time off to heal, but if he continues to struggle at this rate, it's a topic that might surface.

I was there 3 games ago. The other part though is that this team isn't really playing to Tyreke's strong suit. It seems like every charge he picks up is as a result of either Dalembert, JT, or Landry packing the paint looking to post up. Still, no, he's not close to 100% and it's obvious. Could be playing much better if things were better on offense though.

It's his plantar fasciitis on his foot to be exact. This has been the same plantar fasciitis during the preseason that he was nagged with (and to some extent: last year). Evans totally lacks explosion going to the rim.
Also, the lack of spacing in the offense does not help Evans' drives at all. The team's inability to convert from long distance (the Kings are one of the worst shooting teams in the NBA right now) gives the opposing team the incentive to pack the paint and "load up" for every Evans' drives (or anyone drives in general). Why would opponents defend the Kings up top knowing that they can't shoot a lick so far?
I mean, there isn't anything different that Evans is doing from last year than now. When he gets to the rim, that explosion that fans see isn't there. This causes him to rely on his perimeter jumper (which is improved alright but not good enough to be consistently be relied on though).
The combination of the plantar fasciitis + "loading up the paint of players" is currently affecting Evans in the worst way. I think the best thing for the Kings is to rest Evans. (Last year, Noah had plantar fasciitis and he was out for 18 games). Plantar fasciitis is one of those injuries that you need to rest upon. If not, it is going to get ugly in the future. Not good for Evans and the Kings.

hopefully he doesnt turn to be a bust! i dont see any improvement in his game from last year he is a little bit more comfortable takin the jump shot but thats about it. I am starting to doubt his work ethic and his on court leadership. There is no sense of urgency in him this year, if you see how he bring the ball up you will see what im talking about. He only plays defense whenever he wants too.

if he is going to be great he has to work on his work ethic, great players like CP3 deron williams kobe, they compete every play. i get that reke is young or maybe he his hurt. if he really is hurt he needs to come out and say it.

But he did said it. Multiple of times already.
The plantar fasciitis is the reason why Evans isn't 100% right now. This is nothing about his work ethic or coming out to compete every play, Evans is HURT! H-U-R-T, HURT!

Lawl at being injured meaning he's gonna bust and has no work ethic.
Sophomore slump, happens to the best of them when defenses start to figure out how to defend them.

Derrick Rose started last season with an ankle injury but played through it. He was averaging around 16 pts 4 ast and 2 boards. After regaining his healthy he exploded. I fully expect Tyreke Evans to get healthy and become an elite guard out west.

This whole situation is just like Rose last year, IMHO. Rose started off slow and everyone said it had no "it" in his game, and now he's one of the top 10 players in the game.

Just a thought but, do you guys think along with his foot injuries or planter fasciatis that another reason why he looks slow and ground bound is because of the extra 8 pounds of muscle he added? It can make a difference and his body might not be used to it.

Plantar Fasciitis isn't a thing that just goes away if you take 3 games off. It requires weeks of rest to resolve, and even then it may not go away. Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson played the entirety of last season with plantar fasciitis, which forced Noah to miss a great deal of games. Gibson's was less severe. Noah said his foot continued to hurt well into the summer.

reke should just sit and not play.... he isnt helping the kings anyway so why not just rest the injury!
