http://www.nba.com/kings/news/kings_wai ... right.htmlNo loss...and most likely just a cost cutting move to save the Maloofs a couple of bucks.

Though I would like to see the KINGS pull off a reall good trade as most all of you .
I am inclined to more so agree with KIE I believe the KINGS are just trying to save a few thousand $$$$$$$$ as WRIGHT was a waste as he was not really going to play the recent few minutes he got was just to see if he could do anything special wich he did not really do & thats hard to do when you dont see the floor but from the bench !
I also think that the KINGS know the very few minutes WRIGHT may have had a chance to get would go to JETER so their was no point to having WRIGHT .
However as some here hope this could be a sign of a trade for a point guard & It could be a 2 for 1 deal were we would be getting the 2 players for 1 thus us releasing WRIGHT for that spot .
Finally it could be a sign that by releasing WRIGHT we will be adding WHITESIDE to our bench & remove him from the D-LEAUGE . Who really knows ?????????????????????

Oh, and this...
viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1064378#p25460939They waited a respectable length of time to make it seem like it wasn't a knee-jerk reaction.

Good move now bring in someone to help right this floundering ship. A smart good character Vet would be perfect right now.

Desmond Mason 2.0
Another guy brought in for his defense that didn't play good enough defense and was an offensive liability.

I remember Wright saying his contract was fully guaranteed, so I don't know if this is exactly a cost cutting move. I wonder if this is a move to create roster space.

^^Could also be that wright was making locker room problems worse. who really knows. Hopefully it's a sign of a trade coming.

Maybe so. Here's what the Bee says. Still doesn't seem like a "Petrie" move. Might have been causing a bit of a disturbance himself.
http://blogs.sacbee.com/sports/kings/archives/2010/11/dmcs-exit-evans.html*The Kings waived Antoine Wright. The move was surprising considering Wright's one-year deal was guaranteed for $992,680.
But Wright wasn't happy with his role. He played in only seven games, totaling two points and three rebounds. Rather than have someone at the end of the bench unhappy, the Kings chose to let Wright walk.
Simply, it was a situation that wasn't going to work for either party.

Might be going the sci-fi route but I just wondered about something. I've heard more than a few times about how Westphal is somewhat safe because his contract was already picked up for next year and the Kings wouldn't want to waste that 2 million. I wonder if cutting Wright was somewhat of a message, they just sh*tcanned a cool million by cutting Wright, how scared of losing another 2 could they be?
Just thinking aloud.

^^^I don't think thats Sci-fi at all. There are tons of messages that this type of move send that we as fans aren't going to be fully aware of because we aren't in the locker room.
Wright could have been a minor problem and this is a message telling everyone to cool it.
Could be a message that we aren't afraid to lose some money in order to keep on track.
Message to Westphal that he can be replaced because Maloofs aren't scared to lose a couple million
Message could be to the players that they can be moved or replaced if they don't shape up.
Literally these type of things could be a message to just about anyone on the roster or in the organization.

It tightens the rotation, and that by itself makes me happy.
