Barnes, Jones, Irving?

Post#1 » by king125 » Tue Dec 7, 2010 5:17 pm

Hate to bring this up so early but we are headed towards a top 3 pick in the draft. Its not really a bad thing though. The Thunder went 3 years with a top 5 pick before they finally broke out. The question is........

Barnes- super star potential SF
Jones- talented PF
Irving- Chris Paul Jr.

I think our weakest positions are at SF and PG. Hopefully (hate to even type this) we get a top 2 pick.

I just want to get this out there. If Cleveland gets the #1 pick the NBA is rigged!

Greene and Casspi might not have been consistent. But they are young prospects. I would take them any day above Beno and Garcia. If one of Greene or Casspi is not traded, I don't think so we should look for SF.

I definitely think they will get #1.. it could be part of a deal that would 1) Lebron to big market 2) putting Miami's tampering charges on back burner and cleveland getting first in return.. Nice trade by Stern.. wish he was Kings GM..

haha ya i could see Cleveland getting the number 1 pick. I would want Irving. Dude is a playmaker that can score if needed. He is a great defensive player as well. Better then Beno, better then Brooks. So what do we do with Dally and Landry? neither are in the long term plans. Landry wont resign and moving forward we dont need Dally. A front line of Cousins, JT, and Whiteside looks pretty good moving forward.

With the first pick in the 2011 NBA Draft the Sacramento Kings select..... Kyrie Irving from Duke University.

Honestly, Harrison Barnes hasn't impressed me. At all. I'd go with Irving or Jones right now as numer 1 pick. I'm big on Kanter and Vesely too, so yeah

+1 and I'll add that if the Kings have the worst record and we fall outside of the top 3 again, the NBA is freakin' rigged.

Ugh, thinking about getting another top lotto pick depresses me. I hope we're not turning into perpetual losers like the Clippers.

Keep in mind our big mentors AKA OKC, were just in the same route as us.

All we need now is to change to a young good coach who'll make us run and play solid D, get another top pick, and we're good to go! have some faith!

Kyrie, Tyreke and Boogie, the new new big 3!

OKC

06-07 31 wins no Durant
07-08 20 wins with Durant and Green
08-09 23 wins with Durant, Green, Westbrook
09-10 50 wins playoffs with Durant, Green, Westbrook, Harden
*4 players drafted in the top 5

Sac

07-08 17 wins no Evans
08-09 25 wins with Evans
09-10 ? wins with Evans and Cousins
10-11 ? wins with Evans, Cousins, and ?
*probably 3 players drafted in the top 5.

Bottom line is we are still a **** team but we have some awesome players to build around. No need to get too upset yet. We need to make sure that a great coach and great roster is built over the next 2 years to make sure we follow this path. I would love to see Irving, Barnes, Jones land in Sac next year.....in that order!

He's looked good here and there. He's not producing like he should, but, that could be a result of NC's system. Rarely do players look truly dominant there. He's strong and has a pretty advanced wing game for such a young guy.

Overall when you look at it, guys comming out of NC always turn out to be solid-great players.. so it's best for him to maybe get a little tough break right now, overall he'll become a better player by going to that school.... then again he can turn out to be a Marvin Williams. :D

My god, finally somebody has some sense around here!!! Hey, times are tough fellas but we really do have some significant talent to build with. And the more and more we see of Cousins the more I think we have a tandem, or at least 2 two pieces that will be franchise players for the next 10 years. Cousins can do it all. So much talent and if he's allowed to shine, and he works hard to refine his skills we have something a lot of teams only wish they had. A franchise big that you can literally run your offense through is rare. His ceiling is a low post C-Webb IMO. Oh yeah, good times ahead if this team works hard and the right system is put in place for these guys.

With that said, Irving is pulling away from the pack. Might be a one horse race this year. Not a huge fan of Perry Jones, certainly has talent but he really reminds me of Anthony Randolph.

One guys I really like the potential of at the top of the draft board is Terrence Jones. Dudes got a strong body, is a bit of a combo F but he's got the potential to be an unstoppable force when driving to the rim.

They are not in the long term plans. Donte can play the 3/4/5 with his athleticm on both sides of the ball so Casspi will get more burn at the 3 in the future.

When Westphal quits trying to stuff his win % with Landry instead of letting the Kings learn through losing you will see more growth this year.

Plus we will have not just a great #1 but a Casspi/Donte level pick with our high second pick. This team will be deep enough with enough time with Westphal together to make a playoff run.

How sad is it that we're already talking about who we should pick in the top 3...again? :sigh:
