I didn't post this in the rumor area, because I didn't see/hear this as a rumor, I just kind of pulled it out of my.....(you get the idea). Let me know what you think.
Denver trades:
Melo
Billups
Balkman
Denver gets:
Devins Harris
Derrick Favors
Troy Murphy
Francisco Garcia
Draft pick (s)
New Jersey trades:
Troy Murphy
Devin Harris
Derrick Favors
Draft pick (probably just one)
New Jersey gets:
Melo
Beno Udrih
Carl Landry
Sacramento Trades:
Francisco Garcia
Beno Udrih
Carl Landy
Lotto protected 1st rounder
Sacramento Gets:
Billups
Balkman
Oh yeah, the salaries actually work: Trade ID: 5778963
Denver sheds some salary (when you add in Kenyon Martin's expiring) and gets much younger.
New Jersey won't want to give up Harris, but if they did then they'd only give up one 1st rounder (not the 3 picks I think I've heard rumored).
And the Kings, well they need a change and even with salary cap space for next year they won't be landing a top free agent. However Billups' leadership could really help. If they can win a little (or at all) this year, then next year could be the big step we've been hoping for. We need to use our cap space to trade for better players since we aren't going to land the big fish in free agency and it takes a while to grow players from draft picks.
Kings starting five:
PG -- Billups
SG -- Evans
SF -- Green/Casspi
PF -- Thompson
C -- Cousins/Dalembert
Bench: Jackson, Whiteside, Head, Jeter, Balkman
This would also solidy our lineup/rotation, something I think they really need.
