What are the Kings doing?

Post#1 » by swissfosho » Fri Dec 24, 2010 1:44 pm

I don't understand what the Kings organization is doing or thinking. We have lost 21 of the last 23 games which should show you that some kind of move needs to be made. Paul Westphal making all these different kind of lineup changes is just plain stupid. I'd like to know what you think were going to do and when. I'm new to this so i don't know if I'm supposed to post this here, If not then just let me know. Thanks

I honestly don't think they have a clue. Sticking with PW and this current squad is alienating an already depleted fanbase. This team sucks, mostly because of the regress of Tyreke, Garcia, and Landry -- but also because PW is more flippity-floppy than Nemo.

Petrie is either waiting for the lockout if there is one or he is tanking to draft high and splurge this off season. Either way it's looking like another dreadful LONG season.

i have wanted PW gone for a while, Petrie i have mixed feelings on because I think he is only doing what he is allowed to do.

You can't fire Westphal.

It doesn't matter how bad of a job he's doing, but if we fire him now, chances are NO good coach would EVER want to coach here.

We are already an undesirable market/location. Our team sucks. Young talent is never an easy thing to coach. And we will send the message that if within a single year you do not drastically improve and push us into the playoffs, we'll fire you.

Who would really want to take on that job? Perhaps some coaches who have no chance anywhere else (ie Thesus, Mussleman, Westphal) but no legitimate NBA coaches.

We need to stick with Westphal, at least until the end of this season, and then look for new replacements. We can't blame the coach every single time. This team is horribly constructed. We have no playmaker (give me a break, Tyreke isn't that guy). There is no team chemistry. Players don't complement each other. We have no outside shooting. We have no veteran leadership. Our young players are streaky and can't be relied on. Tyreke is sucking ass. We have no consistent scoring threats this year.

Until we start realizing that our team just flat out sucks and isn't really that talented and address those problems, we will NEVER go anywhere by consistently blaming the coach. I'm not saying he's doing a good job, but I'm saying stop living in a mirage and thinking the entire team's problem is Westphals. It's not.

All I want for Xmas is the Kings to make a trade that can be explained without using the words

"FINACIAL CONSIDERSION" or "SALARY CAP RELIEF"

Seriously when is the last time we made a deal just to get back better talent?

I am not a big fan of PW, but I hate the coach merry-go-round. Did anyone else notice when they run the ISO or pick and rolls, they have the SF and the SG on each baseline for the short three? It seems he has the C and PF crashing the boards and noone rotating back to cover the basket. We keep getting beat for the easy breaks all the time.

Happy Holidays Folks

The Kings sent me a post card offering us Tickets Food and special guest speaker trying to get me to buy season tickets again. I think I will say I will spend my money when you start spending yours.

I am not a season ticket holder I go to about 4-5 games a year ! I know a few of the ticket agents & a couple of the higher ups every once in a while i will here of trade rumore but i dont mention them here because .
1. Most dont pan out .
2. Everyone needs to see links , articles etc. ( so no need announcing possibilities to everyone if they wont believe you anyways ) lol

I might go but i am unsure yet if i will .

I have 4 boys + usually I am very busy I dont get the chanced to go to games & the invites they offer from time to time as much as i like ....

What a mess. I can't stand to watch them anymore. It's time for the Maloofs to sell the team or start to spend some real money. Will be lucky to win 20 games at this rate.

It sounds to me like they're keeping Westphal for all the wrong reasons. They don't want to have to fire him because of the merry go round of coaching the last couple of years but in using that as a justification they're just avoiding the very real issues that exist with this team. When the arena starts to become 1/3 full, which it will in another month should things continue, I think then they'll "get it".

No, he's not really. Petrie for as many positives in his abilities that he has, one thing he has exhibited in the past is patience to a dangerous level. Also an overestimation in the potential of his teams current situations.

Not true at all. Once this team starts using guys like Evans and Cousins right and to their full potential this team will start looking much better. If that happens the option of who YOU want to coach will become limitless. No coach is going to coach here based on how "classy" this organization was to not give up on a clearly failing situation. They'll want to coach here because the talent is here to use. The longer this team sticks with Westphal the WORSE it will be in finding a "good" coach. The more hopeless things appear the less appealing it is.

We actually need to get a young coach that's just happy to be here. One that knows how to handle personalities and isn't going to try and show his authority through hypocritical moves, roster shuffling, and bold "honesty".

I think we were expecting too much from this young team. We're kinda following what the Thunder did, but they didnt make the playoffs until two more drafts after Durant's 1st season. But even so, I have a mixed reaction from this team. Part of me wants Kings to be bad so we got a top pick, but if they dont start winning games, they're gonna move. This might be my worst season as a Kings fan :(

That would probably be... Peja for Artest, Williams for Bibby, and then Richmond for Webber...

No no no...I don't see it that way. I am sorry. Please forgive me but this is not on the coach and GM.

The players are not being serious enough and are learning how to be Pro's and handle adversity at the same time.
Cousins and Evans probaly have never lost and never been in a challenging situation like this where what they did put grown men's jobs on the line based on what they do, and they can't handle it.

Fans look at it like, 'oh no, we're losing, fire the coach and then go make a trade Petrie or youre' next' type outlook and think that solves everything. it rarely does... :noway:

Sorry, but this awful team is on everybody from the owners all the way down to the players.

I know SacTownKings4Life,

The Artest/Peja trade is the last one that I remember that was done based on talent. It is pretty funny that the 2006 club is the last time we were in the playoffs and had a winning record.
