Can anyone explain to me the easiest way to find and post an avatar ?

also how do you post one at this site ?

I got mine at gifsoup.com

Click the gif you want and copy the code from the "code for forums" section.

go to your user control panel and paste the code into your avatar section.

I assume he means help getting one up, not finding one.

Find the image you want for your avatar online. Right click it and go down to the bottom where it says "Properties".

Copy the link next to the URL. Copy that whole line. It'll say something like "http://cf.juggle-images.com/matte/white/80x80/san-francisco-giants-200.jpg" or something long like that.

Go to the top of the page here where it has the links that say stuff link BOARD INDEX. His the one that says "Control Pannel".

You'll see a bunch of gray tabs in there. Hit "Profile". That'll open a page with some tabs on the side. Hit "Edit Avatar".

In the "Link off-site" box, paste the url into that and hit Submit.

1st what is a url ?
2nd I was able to go to an avatar site to see some stuff & tried to add 1 at real gm but had problems

1st at realgm i dont have 1 obviously but they asked me for dimensions of 1 & for my to edit my current one wich i dont have 1 they also asked me for the url i believe but i dont know what that is ?

Its a shame I know alot about alot of things but i dont even know what a url is ? wow i feel ignorant right now !

It's ok man, I'm a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) about computers too.

URL is like the link you use to get to realgm, aka realgm.com. Instead of a site though, a picture url is a link to a picture, not to a webpage.

If you find the picture just
Right click the image
choose Copy Image Location
this will have the url.

If the picture does not fit just message me the picture and I can make it small for you.
