Danny Granger is not Untouchable.

Take it for what it's worth given the source, but I'd trade Casspi and this year's 1st for Granger top 5 protected, then 2012 unprotected.

You'd need more than that.

He's not that great. Ray Allen was had for Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West, and Jeff Green. I see that being his exact asking price. Maybe we see where we land in the draft and go from there? That cleans up the protected stuff and the Pacers can pick their player, but I don't see Granger being worth any more than that. If the value is higher than nevermind. Forger I brought the whole thing up.

I would trade Casspi & DALY while they add a filler or Casspi & GARCIA for GRANGER but I would not give any 1st round pick in the deal . Besides when their careers GRANGER & CASSPI'S are both over it very well might be Casspi that has the better career ! No way we should add any 1st round pick in that deal !

It's a top 5 protected, so it basicly means our 2012 draft pick, considering all our guys are a year older, with Granger and the new top 5 draft pick, it shouldn't even be a top 10.

I don't think the Pacers will ok that, but still i'd do it too...i'll add our expirings aswell, and some 2nd rounders.

The Maloofs are too cheap to take on Grangers contract. :-?

I'd trade anyone but Evans/Cousins. I'd trade the pick unprotected as well if we can get him soon. If we get him and Evans plays healthy the rest of the year, we will surpass a lot of the other bottom teams and the pick won't be as high as it's projected to be right now. I have no problem having Evans/Cousins/Granger as our core without a rookie next year, and building around that. If we can sign Brooks too...wow.

I know what top 5 & top 5 protected means however like I said Casspi & trading a 1st for GANGER is not exceptable ! Trading CASSPI & a 1st better net you guys like CP3 , D.WILLISAMS , D.HOWARD etc. though we would have to trade even more for them !
As I mentioned CASSPI'S career could easily end up being better than GRANGER'S alone .
I am definatly not opposed to get GRANGER even using part of our cap next year to do it .

The guy I would be looking at to see what it would take to aquire is K.LOVE in MINN apparantly he is not to happy & is not unchouchable either . I would be more likely to go after him & would happily trade J.THOMPSON & then some for him .

Granger would be a fantastic fit and I think he has a very solid contract for his production. I'd overpay, personally.

Like said before i would trade anyone but tyreke and DMC. I think they would definitely be interested in casspi and a 1st round draft pick and maybe Dally's expiring. I would love tyreke, granger, and DMC.

& again trading Casspi + a #1 pick both is way to much !

I guess their are a number of people so hard up they wont overpay but grossly overpay "WOW"

I don't know about that. His deal is a steal compared to other similar level players and he most likely fits under the "can't miss" category the Maloofs have laid out to Petrie as acceptable.

My lowball offer would be Casspi, Thompson, and Landry for Granger and Posey

My highball would be top 3 protected 1st, Casspi, Thompson, and Landry for that package. Odds are we lose that pick after the trade and potential subsequent moves, but at least if we still suck most of all in the league we have a decent shot at keeping the pick.

If you think any team could be a contender strictly through building from the draft your crazy. It would literally take close to 5 years to be a contender and that's if we can keep tyreke and DMC and casspi and whoever else we would draft. And thats only if those guys pan out to be legit starters on a contending team. If given a choice between casspi and an unknown guy who has proved nothing or a legit all star like granger who is still young who's style IMO would fit well with tyreke and DMC I don't see how you not take that deal.

And casspi + 1st rounder for paul, d-will, or howard is ridiculous. Those are top 10 players in the world in their prime we would have to trade tyreke or DMC with other players for their teams to even consider trading them to us.

1st getting a great team through the draft can be done just see the THUNDER !
2nd I never said we were going to build our whole team through the draft I just dont like getting screwed in a deal as you seem to be so anxious to do !

Additionaly If YOU were to actually read my post earlier I never said we would get those players for what I stated on the contrary I said we would have to trade even more than that !

What YOU need to do is stop attempting to put words in my mouth & actually take time to read a persons post & then argue your point were it makes sense instead of saying a person is saying something that they didn't exactly say !

I think that getting granger would be too expensive as far as assets go, I would rather target someone like Deng. Deng could be had much cheaper and provides a similar skill set, that would also leave us our 1st round pick to use on a PG. I would however trade for Granger if we knew we could sign Brooks over the summer to guarantee us a very good starting 5. On the other hand we could always just throw a big contract at Jeff green and use our Pick on a PG and get to keep casspi, thats my personal vote.

/\ This.

So if you look at this deal - a large expiring, a young player with good but not necessarily all-star potential and a scrub - and quantify it as being for a guy who was still in his prime at the time but also the all-star anchor for a 50-win team then you have your range.

Honestly I figure that if you dangled Daly+Landry and a future unprotected #1 (say 2012 or 13) that I don't think that the Pacers would see a better deal before the deadline. That 's a whole lot of cap space and a guy who can potentially stay for a reasonable amount and a future prospect for a guy who - although he has been an all-star when the East was thin at his position - hasn't shown himself to be the team leader.

I definately do not see giving up thompson and/or Casspi in the deal too - maybe Donte.
