Didn't see this posted yet, but basically states that Landry wants to go somewhere he can win and hopes that place is Sacramento - contrary to other reports, Landry would consider the Kings.

Another good-read article, although a bit older...

The way I see it is that:

*Sammy D has to go. For what he does well he does too many other things not so well.
*We need to figure out what Hassan Whiteside is going to be (early reports look like...Sammy D).
*We have three bigs that can give big minutes in DMC, Landy, and Thompson. If we're letting Landry go, then either Whiteside better be ready or we're bringing someone else in.

As far as Carl Landry himself I think lately the rotation has stabled out a bit and people have had roles. It's made everyone better...except for 4th quarters.

Whiteside looks like a guy that isn't very interested in getting better. I predict he'll be out of the league in 3 years.

That seems like a strange assertion to make so early in his career, care to elaborate?

Most likely that article in the Sacbee from Voisin last week. Didn't paint Whiteside's work ethic in the brightest light.

Since when did anyone listen to Voisin?

Well it wasn't an opinion piece. His actions pretty much speak for themself.

That means he's probably a work-horse. She only paints Euros in positive light.

"We've got the talent," said Landry, who was drafted 31st overall by Seattle in 2007 out of Purdue and traded to Houston on draft night. "I don't care if they bring the No. 1 pick in here (this summer). That's not separating (us) from these wins and losses. It's the little things. We've got talent.

"I played on a team (the 2007-08 Houston Rockets) that won 22 games in a row and went to the playoffs, and this team has more talent than that team. We played without Yao (Ming) half the time (that season), played without Tracy (McGrady) the other half. We had young guys, who had only played in the league two or three years, just like this team. We've got talent. And if we find a way to put it together, the sky is the limit."

Hmmm...wonder what separated that team from this one???

^^Agreed. He's a classy guy, and I think he can do alot for this team as we get better.

You have to remember that Whiteside was stuck with the Reno bighorns whose head coach is - that's right - Eric Musselman! I think that we can probably all draw some pretty basic conclusions from THAT aspect of things, huh fellas?

I wouldn't hate it, but he's at the LEAST a MLE player, and the Kings realistically can't afford to pay anyone that type of money to come off the bench at this point. Time to upgrade, not hold a stinker that clearly has issues with complimentary skill sets together.

Your probably right SacKingZZZ. With the state that the kings are in, we need to solidfy a starting 5 for the future before we start worrying about our bench.
