Kemba Walker

I searched old threads and couldn't find anything on Walker so i decided to post a new one, if one exists my apologies......

If we happen to not get the first pick in the draft (which is likely to go to the cavs) or if Irving decides to stay since his injury all but killed his freshman yr so far; what does everyone think about Walker?

He is super fast, can pass the ball, and can shoot. Basically everything we are looking for in a PG. His size isnt great and neither is his 33% 3pt%. Kemba might be a junior he is still young @ 21 yrs old and he actually played in the McDonalds high school game with Tyreke (if you get a chance check out the Nasty facial he put on Jrue Holiday). I think he would be a great compliment to Reke and give our offense a dimension it doesnt have.

Besides Irving and Walker what other options say at picking 3-6 do the kings have?

At this point I like Perry Jones, Derrick Williams and Terrance Jones over Walker. Sullinger too, but he's not a great fit with Cousin's already eating up space in the post. Im really hoping for a lottery miracle and Irving.

Agreed, Terrance is my favorite prospect so far. One nice thing about Sullinger is that he has a decent jumper so he wouldn't necessarily clog the post completely.

Not really a fan of Walker. I'd rather go big as well if Irving isn't available or trade for a team who may want a big, Golden State for Curry please.

I was a fan of Walker at the beginning of the season (and still am), but I think he's the wrong fit for the Kings now, personally, because it seems like he needs to take a lot of shots to be effective. He reminds me of Kevin Martin because of that and, as we remember, that didn't really work well with Tyreke and now with Cousins will work worse. And although I do like Terrance Jones, I really think our focus should be on a true PG if we can't trade for a veteran (which would be preferable). If we manage to get a veteran PG then I think we go for Terrance Jones.

Good player but there's at least five probably more players I'd take over Walker.

We have a draft discussion topic.

I think picking Walker in the range which we will be drafting is a serious stretch at this point in time. A lot of scouting websites have Walker going the Mid to Late first round not in the top 5 or 6. I'd rather have any of the aforementioned guys (Irving, Sullinger, Jones, D. Williams, P. Jones) or even on of these EURO prospects (Kanter or Montiejunas). Even if it came down to it I would take Brandon Knight out of Kentucky over Kemba Walker. They are similiar players but Knight is younger and taller and I feel has more potential.

I agree with the overall sentiment that Walker is either a bad fit, or a reach for our team. We do not need a chucker.

I'm in the Terrance Jones boat, seeing that he can help to play a bit of a Lamar Odom / Scottie Pippen type role (IF NEEDED) of point forward with his diverse skill set. He's got decent handles, NBA 3 pt range, the ability to drive, and can defend multiple positions. This would also allow us a wider range of players to consider in trades. Mayo or Billups perhaps??

Would love to see a line up like this next season:

1 Mayo OR Billups / Beno / Jeter
2 Evans / Cisco /
3 Casspi / T. Jones / Greene
4 JT / T. Jones
5 Cousins / Whiteside

Walker has other tools besides throwing up shots. When he's put into off the ball situations his movement is incredible. Very reminiscent of Rip Hamilton or Ray Allen. I think him moving through back screens with Cousins looking for him from up top could be a deadly combo. The fact that he can also hit tough jumpers off of movement is an added bonus.

kemba walker isn't top 5 pick on this draft

4 or 5 freshman will be pick top 5, even super sophomores jordan hamilton and derrick williams will be pick ahead of walker.

my #1 choice...............TERRENCE JONES

I doubt Casspi would start over T.J. and I want to see an upgrade at pf.

I wouldn't mind if TJ started over Casspi and if we found an upgrade over JT. Just trying to keep things realistic. Hopefully we have enough big men to just be role players with that roster, since there would already be 4 guys that can score.

Kemba Walker is not worth for a 5 draft pick, he is not even going to be a lottery pick. Too small , lacks range and can't finish with contact even at the college level.

By the way I'm surprised that nobody in this thread has spelt the name TerrEnce right :D

Terrence Jones would be a PF with us. Maybe with anyone in fact.

the only consolation of our losing, the kings has a better chance to grab TJ on the coming draft. accept the fact the we need top 2 or top 3 pick to get TJ.... sullinger, TJ, irving those 3 individuals are lock for top 3 picks in this draft. im not surprise if sullinger ends up as the top pick, tj and irving will fight for #2 and #3. i really like terrence jones, not as a freak dunker like blake giffin but as good as blake griffin in basketball court, he will give points rebounds asists steals and most importantly blocks in consistent basis in every game. yes he can played pf in the nba, he already 6'9 and still growing he just turn 19 last month. a taj gibson type of PF with much better offensive skills, not to mention hes bigger than taj. he can played sf too this kid is too versatile to pass.
