Whiteside Needs Knee Surgery

It's "very likely" Hassan Whiteside will need surgery, per Geoff Petrie. He's been out w/ knee injury. #nbakings.

He's had his issues, but I don't see how that's related to him needing the knee surgery.

You're right, it doesn't, but it's another (if different) issue for his season.

I don't get it. The guy didn't even play a game this season. How does excessive time in a sitting position provide enough stress to induce a season ending knee injury?

He did play...once...in Minnesota.

I just hope this kid can rehab successfully and get his butt on the court as soon as possible. He will have all summer + preseason AND training camp of next year to catch up. I really liked what I saw from him in the SL last year. He was blocking shots like a mad man. And he had a nice jumper to boot!
